Somehow faked it and got IBD offer. I don’t know how to model or make slides. I have one year of back office experience. What can I do to get up to speed?

Don't they send you on a ~2 month training programme?

It’s a small shop so I’ll be helping out as soon as I join

I suggest star googling YouTube videos on this lol. I saw a meme once that said “lie on the application they will train you anyway”. 😂

Well first off, tell me how you did it! I've been in back office for 3 years, do know modeling basics and can make slides and haven't had any luck getting out of the back office.

Been in Sales for 12years, done it all from transactional to complex, from 10k to 650M and from local to global, and 2 weeks to 24 months Sales Cycles - now aiming to move into a management role within the next two years, ideally mid sized business, build and execute a strategy for growth, shape a vision and drive the overall success on a more strategic level. Led teams and managers.

Masters and getting my MBA done currently - any advise what is key to make it happen?

Im a RN and took on a new role working in Home Health. I chose this position because My husband & I recently moved to PA with our 2 kids (1&3), with no family available for his residency program with a hospital. If you know that life, I’m pretty much the main parent for our kids. I don’t want to work in the hospital/floor work anymore; nor do I believe the hrs are flexible enough. I need a job that’s flexible for the kids but pays >$44/hr. Maybe remote or hybrid? Please help w/ suggestions.

Looking to leave my auditing position with only 3 months of experience... I'm in a relatively small firm, and my manager's micromanaging is insane... Want to go into advisory, any advice is welcome.

Is anyone familiar with post IB exit into something like IR? Still new to the game and other than PE (due to the herd mentality), I don’t know much about other exits for better work/life balance. If anyone has insight on type of work, recruiting process, and comp it would be super appreciated. TIA

What are potential exit opportunities in commercial banking? Are the skills transferable to other roles in finance?

Has anyone ever left finance (or know someone that has) to do something completely different? My experience is split between FP&A and accounting and while I have progressed, I am becoming depressed b/c I feel like I’m in the wrong field. I am generally a motivated, high performing person, but I al starting to slip up and care less, b/c my work is not satisfying to me. I know I just sound like a complainer, but does anyone have any advice?
