Anyone else internally preparing to get laid off?

I'm thinking I won't be getting promoted if not laid off at the end Q2 or sooner. What are some good exit ops for an associate with 2 yoe in tech consulting? Exp in Cloud, PMO, IT Risk, and SoD.

I'm an optimistic person, but it is so hard when everyone around me is so negative. What's the worst that happens, you get fired and you go work somewhere else.

I’ve been a jr. in the industry for only a year. I’m at a large and reputable agency, but I feel as though I’m not getting the experience I need. Everyone is spread pretty thin with workloads, and I haven’t been able to receive the coaching I need to advance. Nor do I have anything book worthy. Now we are undergoing a restructuring which sounds like code for layoffs. So I’m worried that I’m already dead in the water before I can even start swimming in my career.

Any advice?

Do you work in advertising and have either gotten laid off or a pay cut? If so, was it only sensitive clients (ex. travel) or to all employees?

I was laid off from Deloitte in the 18th. I have an interview with Amazon for a Senior Program Managers Non Technical position with Amazon hiring manager on Monday. Any advice would be much appreciated. I would love to get into Amazon. I hear their interview process is brutal.

I’ve got a really good job. Wasn’t looking to move but a big 4 consulting firm reached out. I received a very generous/life changing offer. I’m so worried about work/life balance if I take this offer. Also worried about layoffs in a year or two when the market gets back to normal. I’ve got an infant and a 5 year old. I know that I can manage my current workload. I don’t want to pass up a great opportunity but I’ve got to be available for my family too!

Which of these two can get a job quicker?
A. The one who resigned and currently unemployed
B. The one who got fired

What are the reasons partners get fired (besides sexual harassment and expense report fraud)? What keeps a partner from coasting and raking in the bucks?

Leaders - is there any reason you’d keep an employee who’s a known bully? Trying to figure out why my agency hasn’t fired the one rotten apple. She’s not even good at her job. None of us can understand it.

I have friends and networks who have been affected by layoffs from Amazon and other orgs. There is light at the end of the tunnel all. But on the side something happened when I tried to use my amazon alexa.
Me: Alexa what does the future look like?Alexa: The future is not looking good for the economy right now with all the big layoffs, but there is light at the end of the tunnel.
Me: Alexa where can I find the end of that tunnel?
Alexa: I am also looking for it just if you find it.

Was a Junior AD at an experiential agency before layoffs w/ the goal of working at a “traditional” agency. Looking for advice and feedback on how to improve/add to my book with that in mind.

My firm pays staff & seniors hourly, with 1.5x pay for overtime. Firm just cut our hours from the normal 58-60 down to 40 a week for the foreseeable future. Should I be concerned about layoffs?

Seeing all these Deloitte "tellyourstory" posts on LinkedIn and no one is telling their story about the forced pay cuts or unnecessary layoffs.

How do other sisters in consulting get out of the "friendly" hugs? It feels like its become a compulsory formality and trying to turn them down is percieved as a huge negative.

That feeling when being around the people you love makes you feel worse (which in turn makes you make them feel bad). But being away from them just makes you feel more alone. And the consultant in your head is brainstorming the various ways to just end it while ensuring those loved ones are still taken care of.

It'll never happen, because fear. But I'm tired of the endless loop. And therapy isn't helping.

1. Not spend anymore on cards.
2. Pay it down starting with the smallest
balances first and then moving up from there.
