Hi! I'm considering getting the SHRM certification. I see lots of companies prefer the same. How many of you have the SHRM or any other HR certification? Did it really make a difference in your career and/or compensation? TIA

Does anyone have the 2020 SHRM books for sale or to borrow? My job won’t contribute towards my certification. I’ve already paid for my test. I have the books from 2015 but I’d like to study from the 2020. I tried finding them online to purchase but sellers of affordable books aren’t responding.

I currently work in HR (time&leave /payroll) for the city of New York. I actually like wat I do but I’m looking for something remote or hybrid . I have been with the city n 4 agencies going on 14 years but the daily office life with 3kids isn’t for me anymore.. any suggestions or anything hybrid n the HR field ?

I’ve learned my boss is moving on to new opportunities, and there isn’t any plan to refill their role, which will leave me as an HR team of one. I don’t have the experience to fully take on all the work, but plan to give it my all.

Anyone know much about routers? My father in Leander has an incredibly fast Asus router, but his home is 7,000 sq ft and the signal completely dies when you go up the stairs to their mother in law suite where their tv is. Extenders don’t work well either. I suggested doing four Google mesh points but he wants to see if he can figure out with his current router. Anyone know how to set up an AiMesh router with Asus?

Is it worth getting a title downgrade for a job at Amazon? I graduated college 4 years ago and have been at senior accounting level for 2 years. On track to get my MBA at the end of the year, CPA next year. I applied for a senior accountant but looks like recruiters are considering me for an accountant job instead. Folks who work at Amazon, please share your experience! What does it take to get promoted to senior level? Any advice is greatly appreciated.
