For me it's a manager who talks behind your back but doesn't tell you about your flaws in the front. I mean, if you have issues with my work, just tell it to me, why to gossip behind your own employee?
That’s really annoying trait
Agree with all of these, but from personal experience I'll say reporting to a 'yes man' has been frustrating. Telling me my losing out on a promotion was the result of a paperwork error in HR (flat out lying instead of speaking directly or having difficult conversations, or providing constructive feedback and reasoning). Always getting the positive, vague "you're doing great" and no concrete feedback. And having to clean up messes when he tells people 'yes' when it should be 'no' or skirts around denying anyone anything.
Thanks for sharing
I agree with you OP. I hate a manager who micromanages because I know how to do my job and do it well. I don't need someone breathing down my back so I get my work done. I also hate a manager that acts like certain tasks are beneath them now that they are a manager and they are unwilling to do certain tasks.
Well said
I have a manager who says one thing and expects another thing.
I have a manger EXACTLY like that and I have to document everything because her communication is extremely poor!
I hate micromanaging
Agree with micromanaging. I noticed that most managers who don’t know what they’re doing would constantly scrutinize every decision you make, and probably not even realize it.
