I’m an investment banking summer analyst at a major bank. I have an autoimmune disease and tend to get very sick very easily, especially when working long hours. I didn’t bring this up in the interview or hiring stages because I didn’t want it to disqualify me, and I hoped it wouldn’t be an issue, but the hours are really hurting my health. What should I do? I worked hard to get where I am, so I’d like to stay in IB if I can, but my health is obviously important too. Should I talk to my manager?

So I’m a second year consultant. Like most, I was disappointed with compensation this year and am pretty bearish on my future earning potential here. I’m currently interviewing with a big tech company (not FAANG but close) for a position with substantially higher pay as a business analyst. I really wanted to stay til SC/M but the money is too good to pass up. I guess my question is: are there any major downsides to exiting to industry “too early?” Has anyone done it and regretted it?

Need some tips for a valuation analyst role interview. I have a 2 hour technical interview at a MM investment bank. 1.5 hours of it will be me building/studying a valuation model, and the remaining half an hour will be discussing my model and answering questions. I come from financial services audit background, and I’ve taken some modeling classes. I am also pursuing the CFA, so I have a strong understanding of the different valuation methods. But any tips will be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Reasonable education/prep for data interviews by title Shorthand: MOOC online classes, LC leetcode, DS data science, ML machine learning ------- BI = DS MOOCs, sometimes LC ez-med data eng = big data MOOCs, LC ez-med ML eng = ML/DS MOOCs, LC med-hard data analyst/DS = mathy undergrad, ML/DS MOOCs AS/DS = hybrid MS, mathy MS + ML/DS MOOCs, any PhD + ML/DS MOOCs, LC ez-med research scientist = ML PhD ------- Just as the avg family doesn't actually have 2.5 children, these are generalized.

Hello FB, Recent grad here: I recently found out that the boutique strategy firm I was signed with is rescinding my analyst offer and I feel a bit lost on how to rebound into the industry. Any tips/recommendations on how to squeeze my way into a good firm during COVID? I was a case coach at my college (confident in my interview skills) and have a strong background, I just need to know how I can get my foot in the door during COVID while not in on campus.. any advice helps. Thank you

I have sent out probably 140 applications in the last 2 weeks to analyst/project management roles across the country and haven’t heard anything back besides a few rejections. Is this normal? So much time invested in applying and I’m feeling discouraged. 1 year of experience in consulting/project management for a start up consulting firm, business degree from a pretty good state school.

Dont waste your time doing IB and find some other job where you are valued after 5-7 years of experience. I have close to 9 years of experience in IB and I decided to migrate to Canada after that. Now i am facing a common phenomenon in my job applications. Either they say i am over qualified or they say how will I bring Canadian clients. I tried to change course of my career by applying for financial analyst / FP&A role but of no success. IB doesnt teach beyond PPT / Excel. Feel depressed.

🐠 need your take on this: I found a perfect role at a company that I previously interned at 3.5 years ago. However my manager and lead analyst at the time really hated me, and I didn’t get a FT offer. The role im looking at now is for a different department but at the same HQ as my previous team. I’m currently at a key competitor, and confident I could land an interview. How would you try to successfully get the role? Impossible? Burnt bridge?
