Thinking about moving to Strategy from Tech Consulting. Any thoughts on work life balance and comp/benefits between Monitor Deloitte and EY-Parthenon? I am currently a Senior Consultant at EY, so also wondering if internal transfer would reduce my chances to negotiate a higher salary while moving.
I’m leaving from 1 firm to another. Can anyone provide guidance on how to handle the 401k? Do I just do that directly with Charles Schwab?
Is healthcare in America really that bad? Are there many people who want/need healthcare who are unable to get it? I was watching this video and am wondering: is this the model America should (not can) adopt?
Interviewing with Optum healthcare consulting. Anyone have experience or anecdotes to give an inside perspective?
For any former Deloitte now at Accenture - what did you do with your 401k? Leave it? Roll it over? Haven’t yet gotten the details on ACCN 401k plans.
Anyone know if Strategy& is hiring for Healthcare / Consumer Retail practices? Would appreciate a referral if possible
Probably just my soul looking for a way out …so fellow fishes a quick vote for me, how would you choose: Both LS/ healthcare 1) Global brand, 60+ hours, travel, $160k+ total comp 2) Boutique, good WLB (heard from multiple happy employees), no travel, $110k+ total comp
Excellent benefits and WLB
Anyone who has recently accepted a job at EY consulting I would greatly appreciate your insight. How would you describe work life balance in comparison to the company you left? Was the increase in pay/benefits worth the change in work life balance? I’m currently in a situation where I work close to 40 hours a week (remote), so I’m hesitant to accept a new role where I may work 50-60 hours a week for only 20k more pay. Also for reference I’m looking at transitioning into a senior consultant role.
Recently started working remotely for a consulting firm in NY, currently living in TX. Single with no dependents, haven’t setup 401k or other contributions yet - my first paycheck was taxed at 38%. Because of my residence in TX, no NYC city tax was withheld (correctly). At 125k, 38% seems absurd! I checked multiple online calculators and even manually checked what my contributions should be against the tax tables - I should be closer to 30%. Does this check out? I hope it’s a clerical mistake
I want to take all my $ out of my 401K (left employer so no more matching). Is there any benefit to rolling over to IRA vs just cashing to my bank account? Also, there is no 10% penalty now because of COVID, correct?
Thoughts on creating a second email for referral-based applications? Building contacts for referrals is taking some time so I don't want to wait to apply. But I do want to get the benefits of a referral if I could get them, so I was thinking about applying with my primary email, and if necessary, reapplying with my secondary email once I get a referral.
Why put money into a 401k past the match when you get taxed as ordinary income once you pull it out. The long-term capital gains tax would most likely be lower (15-20%) and your funds would be more liquid (brokerage acct. vs 401k)
Any advice on which bank I should go with for checking account? Now with Wells Fargo but want to switch elsewhere. Any bank offering benefits? Thanks!
What are the dental insurance premiums and vision premium at PWC. I dont see this listed in the benefits document. Can someone help ? I only see medical insurance premiums listed
First day back from 20 weeks of paternity leave and I miss my baby, even though I am wfh :( I need my crypto to go the moon so I can retire and be a stay at home dad.
401K question - if I max my contribution this year and then join another firm - can I still contribute and max that one out as well - within the same fiscal year? Or is it just allowed to max out overall total within a year irrespective of company
Why is the annual deductible so high in the health insurance plans provided by pwc. For employee + family which plan is everyone choosing. I am afraid to choose HDHP since my child has some expensive medication. What do you all recommend ? The insurance seems far better at Accenture
Are there any companies that offer MBA tuition reimbursement without having to be in strategy?
Oliver Wyman 🐠, does anyone know how, if at all, the three primary health insurance options cover mental health, e.g. therapy, psychiatrist?
Are there any benefits of marriage other than fulfilling a social norm and tax benefits. I’m trying to make sure I make an educated decision and look at all the pros and cons before signing a contract with someone which basically gives them 50% equity for everything in my life. Am I looking at this the wrong way?
Can anyone share your experience /what you've heard about Kearney healthcare practice? 1) How's the exposure to pharma /biotech (as compared to pharmacies / consumer health) ? 2) How’s the hour? TIA!
I was recently offered a Senior 3 position at EY within GSP in a tier 2 city. Starting base salary is $130k with a signing bonus of 6k. Really just seeking guidance on what I can reasonably negotiate regarding salary, signing bonus, and other benefits. I have 6 YOE and was initially interviewing for a manager position. I was offered S3 as a trial year to become acclimated to EY's culture before being promoted to manager.
Offered a role to start in 2 weeks. I have a vacation planned out for a large family event last week of July. Do I tell them the first day I start or now? I don’t want the start date to push as it’s doubling my comp and the benefits are better
Should I maintain active Cpa if I am working in management consulting. Any specific benefits to it?
Does Deloitte official can get paternity leave in his 1st year ? If yes, for how many weeks he is eligible ?
Looking to understand how “no income tax” works.... say move to Texas, my salary is 100,000, I get paid 2x a month. Does that mean my paycheck is 100,000/24 - any costs of 401K, healthcare? Sounds too good to be true.....
Anyone willing to give me a referral for a Mckinsey generalist position? ADC in healthcare looking to make a switch.
What are the benefits (if any) of working at Oliver Wyman, Kearney, Accenture strategy, EY-Parthenon, Strategy& etc. Instead of MBB?

Anyone who moved from ey to Deloitte that can shed light on their experience? I love the culture at ey but would like the challenge and financial benefits of Deloitte. Would love to hear insight on which you prefer and why. Technology field btw
I moved into industry last summer after many years in consulting in a BD role (F100 healthcare company). I like my new company and the people I work with. Recently approached by a recruiter at a small healthcare company for a broader BD/strategy role with a step up in title. Haven’t been here a full year, but besides the tenure question, any other things to consider?
Is an official eligible for Paternity leave in Deloitte in his 1st year ? If yes, how many weeks he can get ?
Best Masters degree for a career in Health Insurance/ payer? Really not intrigued by an MBA anymore and not looking to make a major career shift.
At what age/salary did you actually feel like you earned enough to have spending $? After HSA, IRA, 401k and MegaBackdoor Roth, rent, groceries I feel like I’m getting used to being on a shoestring budget until I hit over 250k
Looking to exit Deloitte as a SM with 10 years of experience of providing advisory services for healthcare and life sciences companies globally. Please DM if there are any industry opportunities!
Any Art Directors / Senior ADs in SF or looking to relocate? Experience with healthcare clients a plus
On my 3rd job in 2 years (consultant for a year, then left for a new company that was impacted by COVID). My new role is not very interesting and can be very pigeon holed at times. The pay and benefits are top notch, which are keeping me here. Is it too soon to jump again for something I’m more interested in or is it better to wait?
Healthcare 🐟: what it the title of the most senior strategist at your agency and who do they report into? What is the title of the most senior medical director and who do they report into?
Dyscalculia-c here, so request no judgement on question. If I have 10k in 401kA and 20kin 401k2 , will I make more in growth if I combine them into a single 401k? A friend was trying to push this logic but it’s beyond me.
Thoughts on income level to switch from Roth to traditional 401k? Currently facing a marginal tax rate of 36.75% including state taxes. Feels like traditional is the better bet now.
When considering an offer what else do you negotiate for? Medical, vision, dental, 401k aside.
After a few months on this app, I've confirmed that it's just the same shit in different toilets across this industry...especially healthcare
Currently an A3 in assurance. I have two job offers: senior financial analyst (FP&A role) and senior accountant. Similar pay (a little over 40% raise), similar benefits. Will taking one of the offers limit me to just those types of roles going forward or would there still be an opportunity to do the other later on?
If someone goes from full time to part time employed....should they be able to move their 401k elsewhere?
When will our companies re-start contributing to our 401k? Seems like they should have months ago. The stocks market is doing well...

6 months in as an analyst and wanting to leave at the one year mark. When do I start looking for the next role? Also, will I still only be considered for entry level? Hoping to exit to healthcare
Got a healthcare hedge fund analyst offer with 150K base and up to 250K bonus. With comp increase potential but no clear path to be promoted to portfolio manager given the fund size. I have 6 YOE in consulting and a PhD in life sciences. Lifestyle is not much better than consulting. The hiring manager tried to convince me with “long-term upside” but of course cannot commit to anything given the fund is new. Thinking I should turn it down but wonder how others think
Anyone move to ServiceNow? Interested in a couple roles and have familiarity with the solution, but don’t know as much about the company culture and looking to learn more
Short week - reading Fishbowl #wfh
Does anyone else feel that there is a culture of death by pptx out there or is it just me?

I’m 25 and already want to retire. Help.
Does anybody know when PwC switched their paid parental leave policy so that now state paid family leave runs concurrently with the 8 weeks of parental leave? I was just told this is the policy, and live in California, so am going to be able to take less leave then last time and am pretty bummed!

When your bosses always come in late but you get to work on time. So your coworker that comes in late and stays late with them gets the glory and the promotion. 🤔
Would a guy lie about having sex with you? I drank too much last week and I can't recall going all the way with the guy. He said we didnt have sex a month ago (first time put together) but I clearly remember feeling different the next day and then he said we did a week ago when we went out again but I don't recall it at all. I obviously learned my lesson about not drinking too much to avoid these situations and questions -.-
Any other agencies out there with a hiring freeze right now? (Or is WPP just using the covid-19 panic as an excuse?)
Passed up for a promotion. Third year in a row. Should I start looking to move to another company at this point?
I have offers with capgemini, Alight, and DXC technology. Position and salary are all equal. Which do I take?
Need advice for resigning while on bench. I already have a start date with the new employer. Should I do a traditional two week notice or give <=1 week notice instead? My goal is to not burn bridges, but I also don’t want to get let go on the spot since I have nothing to “wrap up” besides HR tasks. I’ve read on here that sometimes they will let you go day of and pay you out for two weeks but I don’t see why any firm would do that for somebody not currently performing billable work...
What’s the best thing you’ve done for your classroom management? I teach 10th grade English. I’m young and look younger than I am. Next year will be my 3rd year teaching. My classroom management was better this year but still want to improve. Learning how to be firm and consistent without being mean.
