401k question - I know I can only pay $20,500 each year tax free but can I pay more in and get taxed or something? When I set it up it recommends 12% of salary which is going to hit the limit pretty quickly so what’s the deal here? (Not from US originally and this 401k stuff is confusing af)
For those looking for unconventional exit opportunities:
My friend is in the air force, has a desk job, works anywhere from 9-4 to 8-6 at the worst, gets 30+ days off per year, and makes over $100K after 6 years. Other perks include Amex fee waivers, retirement, and healthcare.
Do Capco benefits cover egg-freezing?
Average total comp including all the benefits they have there for senior consultants in Brussels?
Is amex plat mostly a sock drawer card if you travel 2-4 times a year? The benefits are good and more than pay back the annual fee (uber, streaming, equinox digital also, etc)
Would like to get max earnings on the occasional hotel/flight expense. 5x earnings is attractive. But the Venture X & CSP offer better earnings, though other benefits differ.
Undergrad friend wants to get into healthcare consulting and has 2 internship offers for her junior year summer: Account Manager at McKesson and a Consulting role at BerryDunn. What role is better in terms of image/skills to recruit for healthcare strategy practices full-time? Would also appreciate any info abt either company

Does someone have information about Kearney Dubai. Would be highly interested in getting some insights about team events, benefits besides salary as well as hotels or flight classes.
In between of choosing my benefits and not sure if I should just opt for an HSA instead? Thankfully I am relatively healthy and just go to the docs + dentist for yearly check ups. I don’t want to waste $$ from my paycheck more than I need to; thoughts?
Anyone else have an HSA and how do you use your $$?
I am new to the US and was told by everyone how a Roth IRA is a must so I opened a Roth IRA with the institution with which I have my 401k. I only just found out that there are income limits in order to be able to contribute to a Roth IRA and I exceed the limit. I have already opened and maxed out my Roth IRA for 2022 while exceeding the income threshold. Can someone advise me on what to do?
On a side note, why is everything a million times more complicated in the US? From taxes to savings…
Aetna vs Premera BlueCross as a provider for Amazon health insurance? Which has a better network, especially in NY/NJ? We’re trying for our first kid. TIA!
Has anyone had their 401k distribution reach their account? What date should I expect to log in and verify it in December? or does it usually post in January (MBB)
Rejected from MBB last year, so went with a boutique LS firm, but M said I could go straight to 2nd round if I applied again. Keen to take it up as I want a broader scope of projects in healthcare - but just wondering when is best to do this (beyond 12M period)? What is the optimal period of time at a firm before leaving? @mckinsey
Getting an offer this week. What are some things I can negotiate? Top of mind: signing bonus, base salary, guaranteed bonus, length of guaranteed bonus, PTO days, how about benefits?
Public sector consulting for 5 years, switching firms and hungry for a promotion (after maternity leave) and learning about manager duties etc. What are the most important skills of managers? Am at a boutique now that lacks structure and mobility.
Having the opportunity to have a coffee chat with a senior partner before I start and wonder if they could shed some light to the promotion track and help. Of course I've not done anything to deserve sponsorship yet. Also don't wanna kiss up to some1!
What happens if I give my resignation on the last day before Christmas break with two week notice, will I be cut off right away or I would still get benefits in January?
We are currently pregnant and at 20 weeks. My husbands was about to tell his manager about the pregnancy and paternity leave plans but then started to hear some layoff rumors which now seems inevitable. His project also did’t get extended (totally unexpected) and his team is getting released at the current client. Now he is unsure of if and when he should let his manager know. He does not want it to backfire on him. Suggestions?
Is the grass greener on the Booz Allen/Deloitte/McKinsey/consulting side or the Lockheed/Boeing/Raytheon/prime contractor side? Pros and cons? Salary, WLB, benefits, career growth, etc.
Currently an SC with 8YOE and $90k salary - not engineering 🙂 Weighing an offer within the latter group for roughly $10k more, and not sure if it’s worth the move… Looking for advice from anyone with operational knowledge!
Anyone here currently working at Gartner? What’s the WLB like in Data Research? Benefits? Reasons to stay away?@
Anyone have insight on a senior consultant role at EY in the Strategy and Transactions practice? Would love to hear about the pay, benefits and culture.
Hi All, I am currently working in IT services based out of Canada as a director with a base salary of $190K. I got an offer from IBM Consulting Canada to join their Hybrid Cloud Computing Group as an Associate Partner - Multicloud in the Financial Services Sector. IBM Consulting offers a base salary of 240K CAD plus bonuses and benefits. Is this a good offer? Any feedback on the work culture at IBM Consulting Canada, particularly in their cloud unit?
Have any of you seen significant benefits from a standing desk (weight loss specifically)?
Any fish here move to another country for a few years then back to US? I’m looking for insight on bringing my money back that would be in my employers pension scheme and I am wondering if I could put it directly into US 401k or Roth? Any insight would be great, thanks.
How do you know when the next move is right? I don’t like my current position at all, I have an offer from a smaller healthcare focused consulting firm doing ERP implementation. I have no idea what I want my next job to be, it sounds interesting enough but I’m unsure if I’m just hopping from one bad positon to another I won’t like.
Mid manager moves to Big 4 from non-Big 4 consulting.
Reason: More expensive in niche IT segment
Goal: Increase compensation/benefits
Fear: long hours
Do mid-managers move to Big 4s ? Any personal experiences you can share
Yes, I do have a family already.
Hi everyone, at this stage in my career, I'm looking to do something new. I have about 18 years in client management leadership (senior manager/director) level roles. My experience has all been in the PBM or Healthcare, Digital Health sector, leading client engagement, strategy or operations. Is consulting even an option for someone with my background? Any recommendations on firms that I should look at? Thanks for reading my post, any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Is the salary on maternity leave paid by company or insurance? Wondering how can I keep up the 401k contributions next year when on maternity leave.
Anyone at MBB willing to chat with me about how they handle externships? Considering an offer and saw this as one of their benefits, would really be interested to know how these work--are you still an employee? How long are they for? Is it like you are being temped out to the client?
Anyone hiring for healthcare management consultant or senior consultant positions? Please let me know.
Has anyone ever heard of Kaufman Hall healthcare consulting? My girlfriend is thinking of moving from academic medicine to KH
Hello! Anyone work at GE Healthcare?
Slalom moms, could you share any details on Slalom’s paid parental leave / maternity leave policy? How is your work-life balance? Would love to especially hear from people at the Principal level.
I recently received a promotion for a VP role, but only received the standard annual 3% base pay increase. Is it standard to receive a large promotion with no upfront financial benefits?
I’m curious, who has a side gig, in or out of pharmacy? I have a per diem cannabis dispensary job that I LOVE, plus I’m technically a consultant for both Arbonne and Ruby Ribbon, although I don’t push either of them.
How much paternity leave does your firm offer?
Looking for a Designer or Senior Designer to join the creative team at Shine United in Madison, WI.
Fun team of really good humans. Health insurance 100% covered. Relocation covered.
Must have experience in branding/digital/print/packaging
I got an offer from Facebook as a C2. It’s a 15% raise plus some other awesome benefits. This is my promotion year which I feel good but you never know. Are there any positives to staying until SC?
I need your advice.. kind of a shit situation. Headed for divorce and can’t afford everything on my own. I thought abt pulling $60k from 401k to pay for everything (bills, etc) so I can afford rent and living on my own.. question is would let your credit go or save it and take a hit from a 401k draw? Thanks all!
I am new to fishbowl and recently got an offer from Publicis Sapient for a senior associate. They are offering $136k with unlimited pto benefits. As I am from the industry and haven't heard about this company before, I would like some comments or thoughts about working for this company? How do they invest in their employees (like pay raise, promotions, etc)?
Can you negotiate transportation benefits like expenses for Ubers home? Increasing my commute by an hour and evaluating if it’s worth the change
I'm freelance & just turned 26, do i begrudgingly tie myself down for bennies or do I stay wild & eat the cost of health insurance?
Having been prospecting business owners for some time now, I am asked about 401k plans quite often. I am curious how you are managing the assets...do you offer a menu of investment options?
I really need help from everyone here: I am a tax senior, and I have offer from both EY and MNP. I was at Deloitte earlier and I am not sure which to pick. Same package/benefits. While EY is a great firm and the partners are amazing and all experiences of Big4 and it's resources, MNP has this charm of a Canadian firm and great culture. I don't know much but people say MNP is a great organization. The people I will work with are all amazing to speak during interview. What to do now?
Serious Q. Who here has a pre-existing condition? Are you fretting about this healthcare legislation?
Am I crazy? 6th year, inhouse my whole career, but getting interesting offers from firms. There's much more for me to do at current place, unless multiple more senior lawyers leave. Offer I'm entertaining rn: AMlaw 200 brings me in as my class year w/promotion to Sr. Assoc in Jan 2022. Got on really well w/partners and Sr. assoc I interviewed with (we went over time). Pay/benefits decent. 1800 billables. I'll learn a lot more, do stuff I've never done and 🤞be a more desirable inhouse candidate.
My partner is a PhD student, US resident alien, and Indian national who has been a student in the US for 6-7 years now. He’s struggling to find a tax filing platform which’ll allow him to report income from fellowships and PhD salary, and also claim India-US tax treaty benefits. Does anyone know where he can get started?
So now every time I say something stupid in a meeting, to make myself feel better, I’ll just think of how Pence refused to wear a mask at Mayo Clinic and then said it was b/c he wanted to look the healthcare workers “in the eye” 🤦🏼♀️.
$70k for mid level designer at small NYC shop w/overtime, benefits, and 2 weeks PTO.
I should take the job, right?
36, and haven’t contributed much to my 401k. I have putting money in my savings account rather than my 401k account, but isn’t that all the same?
Guys DM me if anyone needs AWS Solutions Architect Associate SAA-C02 dumps. It's chargeable but a minimal amount.
How much do business analysts with around 4 yrs of experience get paid in Comcast (CIEC). Giving a rough estimate would help.
After a REALLY bad week, my new neighbor bestowed this gift upon me for all the help I gave them moving in and making them feel welcome. I've never had this. It's SO HARD to find in Charlotte. Cheers!
Seeing all of the moms at bring your kid to work day makes me 😄 I hope I can be like you one day!
Who here manages leave of absence for employees across the nation? How did you memorize all the state laws and what resources did you use to help you?
