If you are starting as an Audit Associate some time from now with Deloitte or any of the big 4, do they expect you to have passed/completed all 4 parts by the time you start? Received the Becker Reimbursement email from the recruiter not too long ago but have yet to start. I’ve seen plenty of people get to Senior at a big 4 firm without the CPA so I am a bit confused in that aspect. Any helpful feedback will be very much appreciated.
Deloitte - Yr 5 Manager. Base 167K. Frustrated for not getting to SM. Have a offer from a mid-size Consulting @ 200K at Prog Mgr level. Benefits not as great, but excited and buyer’s remorse same time
Why does the 401k match in consulting suck so much as compared to corporate? What are some ways to make up for it other than just asking for higher base pay?
Hi everyone, this is a question on Health Spending Account. Does the UK have a health spending account like the US, where, similar to a Roth or ISA, the money you put in this account will not be taxed so long as you spend for health reasons. Through my company, we are using Vitality services for our healthcare and we have a Personal Health Fund, but we cannot more cash to it. And to make it more annoying, this money does not roll over to the next year. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!
BCG fish I need advice. Currently interviewing for a Consultant level role, they mentioned it was generalist track and it’s located in the south region. If I have experience and an affinity to work within healthcare would I be able to network and get staffed on healthcare engagements regardless of region? Don’t want to get stuck in energy work or another industry if that’s what ends up happening. Boston Consulting Group
Pros and cons of investing in 401k if your company doesn’t match more than for first 3-6%?
Any Deloitters can share a little bit on how the pension works? From what I see 401k is 25% match of 6% of salary. Then pension is 1.5% of base?
Best way to maximize Amex Gold benefits? Aside from the Uber and dining credits - I don’t travel much but I do dine out / order in a fair bit
Having grown up in the lower middle class and not with much money family wise, I always thought one day when I made six figures I would have tons of money coming in, but lately I am discouraged with my “take home pay”. Combined my wife and I make about $275k, we max both our 401k accounts out and after all taxes, and other deductions we take home roughly $150k. Don’t get me wrong this is a great amount. I just always dreamed my take home would be more. Anyone else feel this way? We lose over 40%
Need some Advice.. I have 9 years healthcare experience with 5 in Healthcare Data Analytics. I have an MBA. Do you think it is worth adding a Health Finance and Management certification from John Hopkins University?
Setting up a 401k for the first time. Did you decide to do pre-tax or post-tax? Why did you decide that? Retirement savings and options are all overwhelming!
Got an offer from Amazon, amazing benefits and role, but they are only matching me on my base salary? Any negotiation tips that I can use? I really want to take the offer though.
Anyone know what the benefits are like at DDBNY?
How much do you guys keep in cash/checking? I have 60k in 401k/ira/investments and 45k accessible in checking. What’s your portfolio looking like?
I'm sure this has been asked but couldn't find it. What's accenture per diem like. Daily allowance or is it use it or lose it.
When you first started working how much did you invest in your 401k and how much did you increase each year?
My wife doesn’t invest her money in stocks, mutual funds , CDs. She just has a 401k and all her savings go into a savings account which basically yields nothing. I coax her into investing and have often told her about inflation over the years and lower of compounding but she is too scared that investing would take her money away. You guys have similar issues and how have you dealt with it ?
Why is maternity leave, policy and other women's issues not important as compared to Juneteenth, coed bathrooms, and all the other issues in the media today? Women are half the population and at an average of 2.1 kids per woman, these are major issues. Are we not vocal enough? Organized enough? Not a serious voting demographic? Too grateful things are better in this generation? What is it? Why does 50% of the population matter less compared to these smaller marginal groups?
Currently considering offers from 2 big 4 firms for entry level audit opportunities. I’m a bit concerned about the burn out that everybody’s talking about in PA. Any advice on how to avoid it or at least minimize the effects?
Does Deloitte require you to pay back costs related to green card (legal fees, application fees, etc.), if you leave halfway through the process? I’m only at PWR phase (decision still pending from DOL; haven’t started recruitment). Thanks in advance!!
Any Boston MBBers? What is the culture in your office? Are you actively still hiring or is the hiring frenzy over? Would you say the people are happy?
On a federal project and the greatest challenge by far is dealing with the lowest cost technically acceptable contractors. The government just throws away money because they won't pay for good people
Which CC is better for sign-up bonus - Citi Premier 80K points or Chase Aer Lingus/Iberia 100K Avios points? I churn somewhat regularly and am under 5/24 by 1. I think Citi's points are more valuable but maybe I should knock out another Chase card before I'm at 5/24 again, even though Avios isn't as versatile?
Anyone with experience with the GT public practice? Any insight? And senior associate salary? Would be in advisory. Know it’ll vary by market but just looking for input, Glassdoor seems low :(
Any agencies with good parental leave policies? Or are most through short-term disability or only partial pay?

Hey there! I’m looking into a move from academia to industry. Higher education is a hot mess and my job has no formal growth opportunities. I am not paid competitively for my role or location. Plus, we just got our first raise in 8 years! It was about 2%. I feel like my passion is no longer serving me and the future I want to pursue. Tips for making the switch? I just had my final interview for an IFS research position at PwC.
Long term which do you all see as more lucrative consulting for big 4 (assume you ultimately would make partner) or move to tech industry? We can debate WLB separately but this is purely money
Anyone familiar with the Google Sales Engineer, role? Thoughts on the TC (East Coast) and interview process?
When bored in your project city...eat ice cream 🍦🍦🍦
I am lateraling because my firm has forced us back into the office 5 days a week. My office isn’t super social and we are all slammed, so going into the office consists of sitting alone in my office, just like I would at home, except I wasted an hour getting ready and commuting, am in uncomfortable clothes, and am less efficient. I am actually miserable sitting alone in a cold, drab office as opposed to hanging out in a beautiful home office with my dog. People in power: take note.
Hi, I’m currently on parental leave and interested in doing some minor side huddling like case coaching or college essay editing etc. Something consultants can do well and easily. Are there known websites/ forums to offer these services and get connected to clients?

Which advanced non-MBA degrees are the most common at your firm? If recruited from a grad program with a non-MBA degree, did you start at the same level, salary, compensation track as an MBA recruit?
Do socially awkward interns still get offers? I am interning at a big 4 and am awkward af but get the work done well. I heard two of last year's interns didn't get offers so I am getting worried.
