I told the partner I work closely with around 8 weeks (having issues with productivity), then around 12 weeks told the practice group leaders and HR in my annual performance review.
Thank you! I’m also having the issues with productivity.
Even waiting until the 20 month scan seems like a good move. After that you know baby is healthy and should be in the clear.
Congratulations! ❤️
I told the people I work with closely and love early (around 8 weeks for me) so that they would understand what I was going through. I let some more people including management know around 13 weeks after the NIPT, and announced formally to HR and told our office managing partner she could tell the office around 20 weeks after the anatomy scan.
There’s no one right answer — do what feels best for you.
Thank you! This feels like a manageable timeline!

I waited until I was comfortable. I'm over 40 pregnant with my second and was super paranoid about birth defects. I waited until after the genetic testing was done to disclose. With my first, I did it after 12 weeks when I started showing. I was at a firm with my first. In-house with my second.
With my first, I told one person right away because I found out 2 days before my first federal trial and needed the SH to know I wouldn’t be able to stay up til 2am ha. Then I told some people at 8 weeks just because my productivity was impacted. Most I told after 12 weeks but really had started to show by then. I’m pregnant with number 2 now and have told my close work friends because I’m feeling like crap but think I’m going to show earlier with this one.

Yup. That was me!
I was working fully remote so ymmv but I waited to tell people until probably the second trimester and started on a need to know basis (supervisors, planning coverage during my leave, figuring out paperwork for leave and for prorating my hours). I didn't have a lot of symptoms early on so I didn't need to explain any changes in productivity etc. Probably my whole group knew by month 7 since we had mostly worked out transitioning matters by then and I probably did my transition memo with 4-6 weeks to go.
