I’m finally watching Indian matchmaking - and honestly I think this style of introducing people based on families, matchmaker should be way more common. So many people make terrible partner choices. More Sima Aunties!
For anyone who watched Indian Matchmaking and didn’t like Aparna- READ THIS. Totally changed my mind on her, wow. TLDR: it was all editing, purposely focusing on the entertaining (and negative) sides of her. So many good things she said were kept off camera. https://www.filmcompanion.in/streaming/netflix/indian-matchmaking-netflix-they-wanted-everyone-to-hate-me-aparna-shewakramani-on-life-after/
30 m ny/nj. US citizen. Moved as a teenager. INTJ. Single since I figured I’m not fighting the biological clock and have all the time in the world to meet someone and get settled. Things changed after I watched Akshay’s mom (Indian Matchmaking) tell him even 25 is too late and not marrying somehow messes up lives of people around him. While the show was staged, there might be truth to the latter part. Looking for F in ny/nj. Personality: NOT Aparna. NOT Nadia but def more Nadia than Aparna.🙏
So I’m late to the Indian Matchmaking series. Is it the guy who has to be wealthy and the women who need to come from wealth? There doesn’t seem to be a lot of emphasis on what the women do for a living, but the men all seem either well-off or getting called losers. Is that what people look for in real life too? So there’s no place for women on the come up to be with someone above their own social class?
Watching the Indian Matchmaking on Netflix. Every other minute a guy or his parents are asking for "fair skin." 🤦 PS: I am not Indian and really don't want to offend anyone, but I think this is not a positive messaging for young girls.
So...what did you non Indian ladies think of Indian Matchmaking on Netflix? 😀 Now you know why I’m single.
Desi Consultants!! - who all are thinking of hiring Sima Taparia (after watching Indian matchmaking on Netflix) for finding your future significant other?
“You know what I hate about people? When men I’m on a date with start taking to other people. When they talk to the bartender and have a real conversation.🤯” - Aparna from Indian Matchmaking That line told me everything I needed to know about why she’s still single🤦♀️
Saw some of these posts and decided to shoot my shot...25/M/Indian (Cue the Indian Matchmaking memes) NY (Not born, but raised) Hmu if you’re interested in talking/seeing where things go, ideally looking for something long term
“The realization that you can meet someone and it can just feel easy and not like work is amazing” —Rupam, Indian Matchmaking
Fellow 🐠 and 🦈, need advice/witty response ideas to the questions: 1. Are you going through the same thing as what was shown in Indian matchmaking? 2. Why don’t you hire sima aunty to help you? F**k Indian matchmaking!
Unpopular opinion: Don't understand what people are loving about Indian Matchmaking I do not find it hilarious and do not find Nadia adorable 🙄
I'm not going to get back 5 hours of my life. Watched "Indian Matchmaking". Full of incredulous stereotypes that I abhor. Indian here, btw.
Who makes you cringe the most between Pradhyumaan, Arapna and Akshay? Also, Nadia is 😍! (referring to Indian Matchmaking on Netflix)
After watching Arpana and her attitude in Indian Matchmaking, purani kahawaat yaad aagayi... “ Na shakal na *^*^* Aur nakhre unchi unchi”
Didn’t know Indian matchmaking has become so progressive until I started watching this show. Just wow.
I wonder if Sima in Indian Matchmaking (show on Netflix) would be willing to fly to NYC to set up a non-Indian person. She’s the real deal it seems.
Anyone watching Indian Matchmaking? Aparna and her mother have to be the worst, right? She thinks she's a godsend and quite frankly she looks like a potato, is ignorant, doesn't sound nearly as intelligent as she professes to be, and is even more negative than I am! That's gotta say something.
I am evaluating the Sales org. of an Enterprise SaaS company. Any tips on how can I structure my evaluation? Also want to understand Salesforce effectiveness. Don't have a lot of company data and will have to rely on Primary interviews. Any help will be appreciated!
Besides the long hours, what's your least favorite part of working in IB? I'm gonna go with the excessive hierarchal nature, e.g. sending back a document to literally make a change that takes 1 sec
I'm in software sales, and pretty new to it. I like sales, and want a career in it, but I'm wondering what other industries have lucrative sales careers.
Have you ever accepted a job offer as a candidate(or had a candidate accept your offer of employment as a recruiter/hiring manager), and then rescind? I have 2 opportunities but the timelines are misaligned. I think I'm shortly getting an offer from one while I'm midway thru the process with the other. I don't want to end up in a position of saying yes but then getting a better offer and rescinding. I don't think I can ask for more than a week to think about it. Any advice on best way to handle?
Considering the FRM certification. Those who’ve taken it, how quant heavy is it? I have a compliance risk background and don’t have a deep math or statistics background. However, I want to expand my skillset. Any thoughts?
Texas is going through a rough patch. Prayers and please wear a mask. https://www.star-telegram.com/news/coronavirus/article244267152.html
I am in the market for new HR software. Anyone have suggestions on the best product for Payroll, Timekeeping and tracking candidates (ATS)? It is hard to find a great product that does everything.
If i resign from my company post my H1b transfer approval can i serve my 1 month notice period post approval or i should i leave the company right away (bcaz technically my h1b will be 4 the new co.)
Acn people: how do you receive your signing bonus? Is it half in first check, half 6 months later?
Has anybody else found that recruiters totally change their behavior after an offer has been sent or signed? Background: interview and this recruiter was so lovely. Though once the offer was sent, it’s as if their true colors started to shine. Bad with replies, spacey on details, and just weird pressure and dug in heels on the weirdest, minor questions.
