Can anyone please put me in touch with that lady from Indian Matchmaking? Maybe you’ll see me in season 3
Desi fam - what are your views on Indian matchmaking? Is it perpetuating outdated stereotypes regarding the role of men/women and their expectations or is matchmaking the right approach for a majority of desis - be they in India or overseas?
So, I was watching The Indian matchmaking show today (Netflix famous / infamous 😂)
Just wanted to know if you also binged it
I personally loved it as I enjoy of Reality Drama
and also got to know how different and difficult Indian society is.
If you haven't I will recommend it for all people in this bowl
Let me know who is your favourite
Mine is Vyasar
24M (I know not needed still if someone interested to discuss in DM 😉)
Why is everyone here so triggered by the White Tiger? That’s how the majority of India lives, please get outside your white collar bubbles. And stop saying “the media always shows poverty”, they also released shows like Bollywood Wives and Indian Matchmaking.
I’m finally watching Indian matchmaking - and honestly I think this style of introducing people based on families, matchmaker should be way more common. So many people make terrible partner choices. More Sima Aunties!
For anyone who watched Indian Matchmaking and didn’t like Aparna- READ THIS. Totally changed my mind on her, wow.
TLDR: it was all editing, purposely focusing on the entertaining (and negative) sides of her. So many good things she said were kept off camera.
30 m ny/nj. US citizen. Moved as a teenager. INTJ. Single since I figured I’m not fighting the biological clock and have all the time in the world to meet someone and get settled. Things changed after I watched Akshay’s mom (Indian Matchmaking) tell him even 25 is too late and not marrying somehow messes up lives of people around him. While the show was staged, there might be truth to the latter part.
Looking for F in ny/nj. Personality: NOT Aparna. NOT Nadia but def more Nadia than Aparna.🙏
So I’m late to the Indian Matchmaking series. Is it the guy who has to be wealthy and the women who need to come from wealth? There doesn’t seem to be a lot of emphasis on what the women do for a living, but the men all seem either well-off or getting called losers. Is that what people look for in real life too? So there’s no place for women on the come up to be with someone above their own social class?
Desi Consultants!! - who all are thinking of hiring Sima Taparia (after watching Indian matchmaking on Netflix) for finding your future significant other?
Watching the Indian Matchmaking on Netflix. Every other minute a guy or his parents are asking for "fair skin." 🤦
PS: I am not Indian and really don't want to offend anyone, but I think this is not a positive messaging for young girls.
“The realization that you can meet someone and it can just feel easy and not like work is amazing” —Rupam, Indian Matchmaking
Don't understand what people are loving about Indian Matchmaking
I do not find it hilarious and do not find Nadia adorable 🙄
So...what did you non Indian ladies think of Indian Matchmaking on Netflix? 😀
Now you know why I’m single.
After watching Arpana and her attitude in Indian Matchmaking, purani kahawaat yaad aagayi...
“ Na shakal na *^*^* Aur nakhre unchi unchi”
Didn’t know Indian matchmaking has become so progressive until I started watching this show. Just wow.
I'm not going to get back 5 hours of my life.
Watched "Indian Matchmaking". Full of incredulous stereotypes that I abhor. Indian here, btw.
Anyone watching Indian Matchmaking? Aparna and her mother have to be the worst, right? She thinks she's a godsend and quite frankly she looks like a potato, is ignorant, doesn't sound nearly as intelligent as she professes to be, and is even more negative than I am! That's gotta say something.
Thoughts/reviews on Indian Matchmaking?
How would react if a candidate that you’ve made sort of a lowball offer to responded with a counteroffer that’s $20-30k more than your offer initial offer?
Is it mandatory to return IBM badge. I have been only asked to return the laptop. There is no info about badge submission.
Local AD took my order for a sub date. Said I’m #4 in line. Smaller jeweler located in Chicago suburbs. How long do you think it will take?
Any suggestions for getting connected with and continuously staffed with a team? Been with the firm ~7 months and have been at the mercy of the schedulers and have had numerous deals die. Feel like I haven’t got a solid amount of deal reps in during the time I’ve been with the firm.
Hi everyone! I wanted to share an awesome resource. Yoga Foster offers teachers lesson plans on how to use yoga and mindful movement in your classroom. You can also apply for grants for yoga mats!
Is it weird that I'm into watching compilations of plane crashes and car accidents — and get an almost soothing feeling out of it, or is that pretty normal and you're all into messed up stuff too? https://youtu.be/R3xnXYBdTTY
The accuracy of this hurts lol
Is Facebook's new logo a POS or am I trippin
Is it just me or is the morale at Deloitte UK quite low now in general? Hours are long, bonuses are 🥜, raises are a joke, promotions are delayed and even "on-time" is slower than other consultancies. Unless you're an equity partner or on track or hoping to become one, I just don't see why you'd spend another year here. It's just become a sweatshop for junior staff.
May also be the case for other big4 but I can only speak for D.
Looking for an Account Manager @ NYC based strategic & creative agency. DM me if interested or know anyone lookin’
I have 100k+ points on southwest airlines. I haven't flown SW in over 4 years and mostly use delta for domestic travel now.
What can I do with these points? I want to book an international trip but I know southwest doesn't have an alliance.
What are most producers seeing for their commission % on NB? I have a base salary, so I am not straight commission- BUT I only receive commission on new biz, nothing on renewals/retention. My base is supported by managing and servicing an existing book of biz and the book I have started to build since moving into a more sales directed position.
Has anyone had an MBA sponsored by the firm? If so, would you be open to connecting to discuss the process?
