There really isn't a one-size fit all I don't think. How did you study in college? Were you auditable or visual, do you need to take notes?
For me, I listen to becker lectures on 1.5 speed and take notes on stuff I need. Do all the MCQ for the section then when the chapter is done I go back and do all the sims for all sections in that chapter. After every 2/3 chapters, I create a self-review using the becker create your own test and put questions and sims from the sections I have covered. This is what works for me so far. Good luck!
How’d you study in college? If you don’t feel prepared, I think the question you should be asking is what is the most Effective way to study rather than efficient. For me I had to watch lectures and take notes on the lectures. I did the MCQ and SIMS too, but my focus was on digesting the material rather than getting the tricky Becker questions correct.
All this to say, you might need to throw efficiency out the door and accept that studying may take longer for you and be more involved than other people
Good luck though! Hopefully it comforts you knowing that I scored 20-25 points higher on the actual FAR test than the practice tests
It really depends on how you learn best. Unfortunately, we all learn differently. I’m a visual learner so I invested in Universal CPA since the videos are explained in drawings mostly.
I don’t just use universal. I use both.
If you’re able to study at home one of the things that really helps me is to study without my clothes on
There is no specific standard or way to make your studying more efficient. Each person has their own way of studying. What works for others may not work for you. Look for a way that is more comfortable according to your own liking.
Either way, they key is to understand the concepts and know how to apply them
Focus on doing as many MCQs as possible. If you have Becker, I recommend getting the accounting for empires app from the app store. It's a game but you connect your Becker account and use it to study. I had a lot of trouble sleeping when I was studying for the CPA and could easily pull up the app and run through questions. It helped a lot for reviewing previous topics.
