How much do we really need in order to retire? I am 41 and have 2M in stocks/cash and fully own my apt (3M). I have no outstanding debt and ready to find an exit.
Looking to exit consulting to be a singer. Looking for an artist name. Suggestions?
Is it a lateral move from Deloitte Consultant to PWC Senior Associate? For context, I was up for promo last year but it was rescinded due to covid. SC promotion is “all but guaranteed” this cycle 🙄. I know PWC has an extra level with the new SM role so not sure if I’d be lateraling to SA3 from C at D? It’s a 40% base comp increase but just curious what the outside perception is... currently 3YOE, top right scatterplot. I’m thinking I could make M in a year or so but is that like SC at D??
Has anyone worked for or interviewed with Oscar Health? Recruiter reached out about an open finance role in NYC. Seems like a cool role but I can’t find much about the company
Worth looking for an entry level role that pays more than my current position? 1 YOE right now or should I stick it through? There are new circumstances require me to up my income this year
Anyone here take APICS CSCP? Is it worth it? What type of role are you in?
"Thank you for your interest! You've successfully applied to this position and we're reviewing your application" THE LIES MICROSOFT. It's been months 😤😤😤😤😤😤😤😤😤😤😤
Anyone regret their exit?
Curious.. what are the exit opportunities from Finance Transformation Consulting? Does anyone leave and go into an actual finance role in industry, or will your industry opportunities consist of internal change management/operations?

Interviewing for a role that will be 100% remote forever. Does anyone have any thoughts? I’m young 20s, no kids, living in a city, etc. I’ve enjoyed working from home because of COVID but I’m not sure about never going in/seeing team members again.

Just joined a company in a strategy role and they want me to help create Dashboards in Tableau/PowerBi for the Csuite to view metrics and company performance. Only problem is I’ve never done this before and no one on the team has any technical experience. Where would you start? What are good sites to use.

I’m wondering if anyone has ever taken up a part time coaching position outside of work (strictly for fun, not for extra money) and made it work?
I have worked in consulting for 7 years at the same company I started at post grad. What should I cut from my experience to keep my resume one page? An unrelated role that I learned a lot from or one of my 3 roles in the same specialization?

A friend is a successful vascular surgeon in NY but looking to get into industry. Anyone have tips for companies hiring ex doctors into consulting or other (eg chief medical officer) roles? She is also getting her MBA online from Johns Hopkins. Thanks for any tips.
When you start out at a new firm, do you all tend to take on additional work or draw boundaries on the pieces you would be responsible for with your new peers? In short, are you supplicative or a people pleaser early on in the new role? For context, my SO with over 15 years of exp, started a new role as a Solutions Architect in presales and takes on tons of additional work that are meant to be done by sales teams. My argument is it sets a bad precedent & the team would expect this from (cont'd
How would you choose between the M7? Are there any clear differentiators? (Culture, niche programs, exit ops?)
For fish who left, how long did it take for you to exit from when you first decided to leave?
MBA at 13yoe (I’m 34), worth it? I’d like to use it to potentially make a career change. Not necessary out of consulting yet, but for better exit opportunities as opposed to mainly fed aerodef roles. Would an MBA help or should I just go the certification route with aws azure. I’d like to do more than be a tech junkie at the end of the day. I’m asking because I just interviewed with USC for their Fall 2021 admission.
In reference to a previous post by KPMG: Why are MBB people so hesitant to refer other people? Is it just a skewed sample on this app of people not wanting to refer or is there something different about their hiring process? It seems like people at every other consulting firm except those 3 are happy to look over someone’s resume and potentially refer them.
I have a colleague, who is a fellow peer, and we don’t get along . she has acted like she was my boss in the past and I have finally been able to set boundaries with her. She started on the project a few months before me and I am in a client facing role. Whenever I email the client directly (many people in the organization), they tend to also CC her in responses. It is really annoying and I respond with taking her off. I’ve even told people upfront, not to do this. advice ?
How many weeks vacation would be expected for a position requiring 2-4 years of experience ?
Would you exit CDD consulting to join an investment team at a small VC software-focused fund?
Need advice and pep talk because I’m certain I have chronic imposter syndrome :( Background on me, I have about 6 years of work experience post college but have gone through many companies because of layoffs and/or reorgs. With that, I’ve bounced a lot with different industries and have done different roles for a year max. My current role is about to be my longest (thank goodness, hitting about 2 years) but I feel like I’m not a SME in anything but I feel embarrassment for myself (Cont.)
What are traditional exit opps from M&A diligence groups in NYC? Just curious to hear where people from other firms are going after
My wife and I built a house last year with a construction loan. We had a construction loan of around $2m, $1m for the lot. Our contractor was great, always told us what was in budget and agreed to not spend a penny over the loan. Unfortunately, the bank screwed up and forgot to post one of the payments and told him there was an additional $200k which we spent. Inevitably bank caught their mistake but we had to get a heloc to plug the gap. Now we are in a position where we can’t remortgage as we.
Any daily adderall users here? Does it play an important role in getting through your work day?
Consulting to industry change.. 2-3 YOE. I’m in a new role and a few days in and feel like completely useless like I don’t understand how the business breaks down.. any advice or words of affirmation (lol) for starting in a new role, ways you impress your team and also learn in an organized way? Onboarding here doesn’t seem incredibly structured
Had a phone screening today. Recruiter asked for compensation. I gave her a range. She responded “that’s well within our range for this role”. Feel like I should’ve asked for more now. In the event I’m offered the role, is there still flexibility to negotiate or did I screw myself by disclosing? What’s some good language to use if the time comes and I want a bit more?
I am 1 year in and already looking for exit opportunities for the next 1-2 years. Is this normal??
Just got offered a business transformation role for a merger on a contract basis through a staffing firm. Pros and cons of contract work? Never experienced this before
Ok, protocol question: I saw a posting for an Art Director position at a very small shop. I am overqualified for it, but I want to start a dialogue with them about more senior opportunities. Do you recommend I a. Cold email them, b. Visit their office and try to meet someone face to face, or c. Apply in hopes of having them contact me and then try to bait-and-switch?

I’m curious about salaries for brand side CD roles? I’m talking about roles where you lead all creative for a brand, maybe you are building an internal agency, and the role is global or has that potential. I think salaries from NYC, LA, SF and Chicago would be most relevant. I appreciate anyone who’s willing to share!
