Working in the claims department, every claim we file goes through a quality check where quality people review our work and documents. But honestly, some of those need to chill. There’s this one guy who seems to look for mistakes just to reject claims. Sometimes it makes sense, but often there’s nothing I could’ve done better. Claims don’t follow strict rules , you go by your gut. Just because mine differs doesn’t mean I’m wrong.

Do you have anyone at your job who makes things harder too?

I know a few people like that. Always looking for problems when they don’t have to be. I appreciate that sometimes mistakes happen, but the ones that go out of their way to find those (when it isn’t even their job) are hard to work with.

Exactly! I mean it does not cost anything to make things smooth for everyone. I guess some people can't help themselves.

I've worked with people who would get so hung up on ridiculous details that it was difficult to get anything approved by them. I figured the company kept them in place because their oddball personality quirks tended to save the place money. While it may have seemed that way to someone upstairs, it was actually counterproductive having a constant roadblock to have to navigate around.

You are absouletly right about that. They have no idea how hard they make things for people working for them. Plus it gives a little negativity too because you feel like you are not doing your job properly.

I’m surprised you’re surprised. That’s their entire job to find reasons to reject claims. Companies don’t actually want to pay claims out. They want to find ways to save money.
