Deciding between Deloitte and EY audit staff 1 positions in the Louisville area. Pay and benefits are equivilent.

Deloitte has plenty of private clients, while EY has multiple public. What are the benefits of each?

I’m thinking about applying to jobs at the big 4 as an experienced audit staff. what is the vesting period on each firm’s 401k/retirement plan? I know KPMG is 3 years.

Hi all, just found out I’m expecting a little one but I’m nervous about staying in public as I don’t think it’ll be beneficial once the kiddo is born with the late nights of busy season and stresses of the job. Is it worth it to look in industry? If so, would they get angry that I’ll basically go in maternity leave in 9 months? Also, if public is better- why? I just don’t see benefits of being in public anymore. Also, I’ve been a senior auditor for 1 busy season if that helps. Helpppp.

Fellow Partners/Principals, how does Partner deferred comp/pension work at PWC and EY. I have direct admit offers (verbally confirmed today) from both. I am also in the process of switching to Principal track Deloitte in the upcoming FY and Deloitte’s pension is based on avg of your best 3 yr. I am hearing that may not be the case at PWC. I would like to account for that in negotiating fair signing bonus and/or annual income offer. I am leaning towards PWC. Thanks in advance!

I have been a clinical research coordinator at UCSF for a reputable research group for the past 2 years and I need some advise as I am considering moving into healthcare consulting! I went to a non prestigious state college and got a degree in neuro with a low gpa. My former UCSF colleague went to healthcare consulting at ZS and recommended me for a Associate job there. However, I did not get the job. What’s the best thing I can do to get into healthcare consulting? I’d appreciate any advice!

I have about $11k in debt and trying to pay down to prepare for my home buying journey. I’m stressed about paying off debt and saving at the same time. I know these two are contradictory. I’m giving myself 1 year: to completely pay off and close on the home. My target is next Sept. Would love advice on how to realistically pay down the debt and still try to save at the same time. 🫤

Client-side BD&L is pretty hot for young consultants looking to chart out a career and move to industry. However, it seems that most BD&L roles go to high-level MBAs or true ex-finance people.
(1) is BD&L really *that* great? Obviously the prospect of scoping deals sounds cool but also complex, labor-intensive, and highly political - true?
(2) what are the long term prospects after a BD&L role? As many people have noted, the path to C-suite goes through P&L roles - So...what would comes next?
