A couple of weeks ago, I worked on launching a new app, but I faced challenges with teamwork. During brainstorming sessions, I felt that many team members weren't putting the effortnin, which made the process frustrating. I felt exasperated. How do you handle situations when collaboration falls short?

I suppose one approach would be to touch base with each person individually. In a brainstorming session some people may be reticent to chime in. They may not be too confident of their ideas, or they could feel intimidated by more vocal participants. So sometimes in a collaborative setting it's good to try to draw people out in a supportive way.

Thank you, that's a very good point. Not everyone feels confident in groups.

Half the battle is getting the team engaged. If they aren't excited about the app release or feel that they had any part of it, then it's hard to then ask for maximum effort. Ensuring team members all play a vital role and feel valued is key.

Thank you, yes I'll definitely have a think on that.

Change up my approach. If we’ve only had large groups, break them up into smaller ones. Open the floor for people to talk, share ideas in a low-stakes environment, and just be open to change.

Yes absolutely, my current way isn't working so I'll give that a go!
