If I retire when I'm 58 and withdraw my traditional 401k at 59.5, will I be taxed at a bracket of little to no income since I stopped working?
Hi all, I wondering what I should do i was planning on taking an advance Accounting course in January 2021. Part of my company benefits is tuition reimbursement. I got an email back from my manager that was clearly drafted by the Director. The email basically stated that they were concerned that I was over working myself and the course would not be reimbursed at this time maybe in April that would be after they reevaluate the situation. My question here is should I be concerned I’m a target.
26/m - I have about 8k in an old 401k from my previous company. Should I roll all my retirement earnings into one big bucket? Is it a big deal if I just leave it there? What would you do?

Just came across this thought experiment in Dan Ariely’s The Upside of Irrationality on our need for meaningful work. How did this man get in my head? 😅 “Imagine you work for some company and your task is to create PowerPoint slides. Every time you finish, someone takes the slides you’ve made and deletes them. As you do this, you get paid well and enjoy great fringe benefits...How happy would you be to work at such a place?”
What are your most creative ways to maximize benefits of expenses without being unethical/fraudulent?
Why is my ass drinking a $5 Starbucks drink and eating a $15 salad for lunch when I no longer get per diem. Need to reevaluate my life
Having been prospecting business owners for some time now, I am asked about 401k plans quite often. I am curious how you are managing the assets...do you offer a menu of investment options?
Need advice. Offered job pros: same pay ($170k), 40 hr work weeks, remote 3 weeks a month, better benefits. Cons: need immediate answer (start in 2 weeks), not guaranteed beyond 2 years - take it?
Anyone here not contributing towards 401k? Why and where are you putting your money towards to instead?
Is it a good strategy to negotiate $$$ first, benefits later? Want to get the most important thing ($$$) settled first, but worried HR would be annoyed for going back to the team again for benefits.
What are your personal financial milestones? Whether it be achieving a certain annual salary or maxing out your 401k contribution annually, storing X% of annual towards investments, owning X BTC, etc
Has anyone taken family leave to care for one of their parents? Are there only certain medical conditions the leave will be approved for? Thanks!

Am I the only person in this industry that thinks pto should essentially be a black wall where everyone leaves you alone until you come back? Why is that such a radical thought?
Is your school teaching remotely? Interested in sharing strategies! How will you stay in compliance? Do we need to rewrite the minutes for services. Will you hold Zoom IEP meetings? Has your state provided any directives?

PwC 🐠 - completed on-site final rounds and was invited to partner video interview as final step. Took place on Thursday. Was expecting to hear back Friday, but didn’t. Is this cause for worry?
Anyone make the switch from Big4 to a small local firm? I’m trying to get an idea of what might be expected for compensation, benefits, time off, bonus, etc.
Sorry to be a barnacle on the MBB boat, but I have a final round with McKinsey coming up as an experienced hire from industry with about 5.5 years of experience. I will take into account feedback from the most recent round to improve (which was to make sure PEI is directly aligned to Mck values), but any other pitfalls or differences as compared to round 1 it would be useful to know about? Much appreciated.
