I’m a senior associate at a v10 firm considering an in-house senior compliance position at a pharma company. Seems like a good fit and a good opportunity. It checks all my boxes but I’m worried about being pigeonholed in compliance and not being competitive for legal roles down the line. In practice, this job would involve both legal and compliance work but I’d sit in compliance. Has anyone had any issues going from a compliance role to a counsel role, particularly in healthcare?

Currently working in rwe consulting at a healthcare firm. What’s the chances of moving into a more general strategy consulting role at tier 1/2 firm, would I have to join at an entry level or would a senior associate / junior consultant role be plausible?

Maternity leave question: at my firm, female associates returning from maternity leave have a habit of deciding which cases they want to return to work on and not coming back to the more difficult cases/partners. Recently, a senior associate who was single handedly running a massive case is refusing to come back to it, even though it’s left the rest of the team (and the client) in a rough spot because she’s the only one with institutional knowledge of the case. Is this normal?

Potential incoming KPMG experienced hire looking to negotiate a comp. Nearing 14YOE with an MS. Currently at 220k base (4-6% annual bonus, 9% 401k match) at a company, and want to bring me on at the Senior Associate level (lol I know, I know). Gonna try to upgrade to a Manager level role if possible. Based on where I’m at, is KPMG going to even be close? I’m okay with a lateral move as well, since I’d like experience and branding also.

Big law senior associate in Florida here seeking advice or perhaps representation from someone in the health benefits and/or disability insurance field. I was diagnosed with a disabling disease over a yr ago and have been working under intermittent medical leave with reduced hrs. I’ve exhausted firm’s 100% paid medical leave (now at 60%) and have only 40 FMLA hours left. HR referred me to Prudential to file claim for long-term disability. Hey female 🐠, this year is my promo year to Manager. So I’ve been working hard, however coz of the current situation, they might say I won’t be promoted.
