I don't mind silence at all. I don't want it all the time, I suppose, but when I have it I'm fine with it. I do, however, get antsy if the power or the internet goes out and I feel like I'm cut off and can't find out what's going on if I want to. But for the most part I'm fine picking up a book and reading in splendid silence.
I do like reading a good book. I can't wait for the beach so I can just read and soak in the sun.
Go to the car and put on the radio. Also charge your cellphone
My neighbor did that the first day. I went to the school on the second day to charge everything. Our public library was super busy with people going in to charge their stuff and cool off.
I love silence. All the time. Before cellphones, my car’s radio broke, and I didn’t bother to fix it for the last two years I owned it. Even now, I’ve driven for 10-12 hours straight and don’t listen to anything. My brain is so busy that I don’t get bored. While working, especially creative work, I need quiet. 🤫
I understand, my brain never shuts down or slows down. I find it gets worse as I get older. Plus side- I'm rarely bored!😂
Wow! So sorry you have been out of power so long
It felt nice today, and I appreciated the cool house and lights a whole lot more today.
I don’t
I often find my racing thoughts to be distracting. I think as I get older I am discovering that I am probably ADHD. When I really need to focus, I need some background noise to occupy part of my brain so that I can concentrate more efficiently on the task at hand.
I do understand where you are coming from. I feel like my brain never shuts off. I think I drive my family crazy sometimes because my brain is always bouncing.
