has anyone seen immediate results after getting a SHRM certification? i’m applying for entry level hr roles with recruiting coordinator, hr intern, admin asst, and a customer service role on my resume and no luck so far. i’m wondering if this will help me land a job quicker? also wanted to ask if anyone has knowledge of grants/programs to assist with payment since i am unemployed and money is tight. thanks!

I am going to be starting school again soon and will be needing extra money and I’d love to also continue acquiring experience in IT. Someone had recommended to me before a part time IT Support position (remote) at Amazon. I’d love to hear opinions about this as i would need evening hours very flexible with school as the morning I work as an IT Specialist Intern and go to school in the afternoon. Anyone ever leave a FTE job with full benefits for a 1 year contract? I'm hoping to avoid future regrets - am definitely burned out and under-comped at my current position and we've been losing team members almost every week to greener pastures. I've been at the same place since I started in tech, from an intern to a PM, 6 YOE. Currently managing a peer (!) and reporting to a VP. The contract is for a company I'm interested in working for, but no conversion guarantees and I'm nervous. Stories?

I just got invited to interview for a role in SFO that I also did as a Summer intern at Google Europe. And it turns out I have a fair number of first and second degree connections (bcoz of this internship) to the Hiring manager. Should I talk to them?

Just a year in my first role as data analyst at a big 4 but projects I’m assigned only involve simple research and analysis that any intern can do. Really wanted to use my first job to build more technical skills, but that’s not happening and my manager keeps apologizing for that but apparently there isn’t much they can do. Would you leave or spend a year more? (I’m quite junior and wonder if leaving after a year is bad on my resume )

Tomorrow I have 2 interviews: for Market Data Analyst @ CS, and for Client Data Analyst @ AXA XL. I'm currently Junior Managed Operations Analyst @ FIS, with half YOE on this position, and almost a year as Audit Intern @ KPMG. I've decided to apply for those positions as just within those 6 months I've outperformed all of my team members except of 1 witch has over 3 YEO. I don't see more opportunities to grow there.

I’ve read a few posts about the Risk and Financial Advisory at Deloitte and I’m concerned this position may not be aligned with my interests.

How difficult/easy is it at MBB to transfer offices between MBA internship and offer? Ex: if I intern at MBB DC and get an offer but tell HR at that point I want to be in NYC for my FT role? Is that impossible? Would I have to re-recruit and/or try at another firm?

Possibly a dumb question from an intern but why do people go into specific software jobs? For example kpmg has oracle, workday, Salesforce, etc. I see this being super dead end unless you plan to work in that software forever and move up that way. I don’t see many exit opps and personally doesn’t seem fun to work on one software everyday. Please let me know if missing something

Recently accepted an offer to be a copywriter intern this summer! 😁 It’s a goal I’ve been working toward for the past two years. Super excited, it’s a small shop with great talent who have worked at some incredible places. Was wondering if anyone had advice on how I can make the most of this experience and hopefully get signed on full time afterwards? Or how I can leverage the internship to find a Jr. role elsewhere?

Recently I accepted an offer for a consulting position. However, I was just invited for a interview for a government intern position and that is another organization I would love to work for definitely in the future. How do I decline without burning bridges or potentially asking for fall openings ?

Currently an AM intern with a fast-approaching end date to my internship. The agency I’m at has offered me a role in SEO as they don’t have any open AM positions to fill.

I don’t have any other job leads right now, so I’m inclined to take the SEO role, even though my interests are more AM or even PM. I know little more than the fundamentals for SEO.

Will taking the SEO job for now pigeon-hole me into those types of roles? Or can I do SEO for the time being and keep looking for AM jobs?
