is the pay jump from jr. to ad or senior that drastic? Backstory. First generation college student, first in fam to have “an office job with benefits etc and pto.” Recently been seeing a lot of posts about creatives, why certain positions are more likely to get fired etc. what jumped out at me was the $$ people were giving for each position. I assumed jr’s are like 40-50k, ad 50-60k, senior 60-70k. These posts are saying it’s more like 40-50k, 60-70k and 80-90k. Is that real?

After 3 years of dealing with the worst firm I've ever had the displeasure of working for, I finally landed my dream gig at a small specialty firm. The people at the new firm are all SMEs featured in and contributors to the most notable business publications in the world, less than 100 employees, better benefits, unlimimted PTO, doubled my pay and landed a senior role. Keep looking for what you want and deserve. I'm happy to be forging a better path away from what I've had to endure.

I accepted a client side role with better pay, hours, and benefits. But I now feel dumber than I ever was since senior leadership don’t prioritize strategy, my work is stressful but not intellectually challenging. How do I spin this positively in a new job search?

When’s a good time to leave PA? An opportunity to join as a senior accountant for one of the top publicly traded companies just came my way and I’m a first year senior. Debating on whether or not to take it. Pay is close to six figures in the pacific north west - close to a 30% pay bump for me and great benefits.

I’m working with a senior on a case and it’s the second time I prepare a draft email to the client laying out the options and the risks associated with each possible path and he straight up deleted the risks of the option he wants our client and the benefits of the option he does not think the client should follow. Personally, I believe the client is the one to decide what path to follow (...)

I'm in salary negotiations for a great role, but there's a small gap (~$10k) to even match my old salary. They have most of the obvious benefits like unlim. vacation, low healthcare premiums, 401k matching, permanent WFH, etc. Right now, severance pkg. and a more senior title are most important. Has anyone negotiated a title bump? Outcome? Are there additional benefits I should also consider?

I applied for a job and received an offer from my client. 15k+ bump in salary, better benefits/remote work, and responsibilities will give me exposure to all areas of the organization (start up). The problem is that they’re looking to staff me as a Senior when I’m currently a Manager at DT. They said they’re flexible on title, but curious to hear how others have navigated similar situations. I would report directly to the controller and have 1-2 staff reporting to me...

I have an opportunity to work in Higher Ed. I’m an A2 in tax, Senior in Oct. Without the distraction of vacations etc. I have come to realize how much I do not like my job. I previously worked in Higher Ed and I loved it. I genuinely enjoy interacting w/students, improving their experiences, and helping them navigate life. The benefits are good, PTO is great, and of course WLB bc it’s 9-5. The only issue is it would be 5-8k pay cut. Thoughts?
