Similar - made it to the next round then silence. Three weeks later, I got an automated rejection letter. Hope yours works out but still best to push forward as if it didn’t, until you know it did.
Yup I’ve been ghosted like that and I was recommended internally. Unfortunately that’s the new state of recruiting there used to be more good recruiters than bad now it’s the reverse. You’ve already reached out so probably best to just move on
I would check their LinkedIn though there was one time where the recruiter I was working with got laid off
Oh yeah it's happened to me more than once! It's unfortunate that today's recruitment teams are either so inexperienced or just to lazy to send out the ATS standard we have moved on for another candidate and or they did an offer and awaiting confirmation that the other candidate is goi g through background and if they fail background it could be they move on or they normally try to keep the candidates warm as in keep in touch, return calls and or messages. I think it's just poor of any department that cannot justify why there is no follow up for the first and or second round even after the hiring manager completes the interview. The hiring manager may have been out of town vacation and or graduation of child, who knows it's just that unless they have been in your shoes they don't understand the true anxiety they cause when not communicating. In my case 2 times I was given the verbal offers on a Thursday and accepted on Friday morning with an agreed start date pending the BG check completing and I was ghosted 2 times by two different companies and I'll never ever look at them again! If any would ask me I would completely tell them the honest truth and be brutally honest. In the IT industry it's normally pretty close but groups of teams and once you burn someone the news travels fast. I hope you also sent thank you emails to the interviewers and asked whet the next steps would be? If you did and they ghosted you move on and take them off the list of company's you want to work for unfortunately.
Yes it’s become the norm in this market.
The only time this happened to me was because they suddenly retracted the position in the middle of the process. I had to send a couple follow up emails before I was informed (months later).
I have been ghosted after round 3 of interview process - I thought it was a terrific fit for both ends. Interview process went nicely and was even given a tour of the entire place. So, not sure what has happened, so I reached out to the hiring manager to see if they had made any decisions and was ghosted again. I think it best to keep plugging away.; Don't wait.
Round 3? Whoa! What position were you applying for?
Yes, from a prominent publishing company and the poition was for an internship! I have sr. experience and was willing to take an internship! hate this.
that exactly what just happened to me. was asked for my availability and then silence. did the follow up and nothing. I guess it is a new level in "we ghost people" HR's game
Similar situation I am facing after completing first round interviews!!! Getting ghosted, but also I know that employers are having tough time finding good talent. At same time we all have to embrace the job market in today’s society
