Anyone notice that student morale is really low in the last few weeks? Not sure how to improve it. I've tried doing more fun activities but I'm seeing a lot of anxious behavior, lack of effort, etc.

So, this may or may not work for you. I have middle school kiddos. I’m finding my are sluggish and tuned out some days. So, after asking a question and getting crickets a couple times, I ask students to stand up. Then I ask them to touch each toe with the opposite hand, then stand up and stretch as high as they can and finally I will ask them to either wrap their arms around themselves and yell “I am great” or. I will ask them to look at the person beside them/across from them and say “ You are an amazing person and I look forward to learning something from you today.” Then we sit down. I let students know we just did a few reset stretches that help to brain to focus and I remind students it takes 10 positives to erase a negative so they just got 1positive and now have the opportunity to receive even more by being present in class. Challenge them to try to find 9 more opportunities to genuinely help/encourage/compliment fellow students that day and to let you know if they were able to do this. I usually have candy or little items in a treasure chest in my class that I will let them pick from if they can tell me who and how they met the challenge.
The stretching and complimenting will usually wake them up. I also try to start class with a question of the day. I use this to take attendance. It also seems to start their thinking.

Maybe ask them what's going on? Try and teach a lesson from it? If this isn't just one student but many, there's probably something going on that can become a teaching moment.

Maybe it's the weather. Some students may have Seasonal Affective Disorder. This means that non-sunny weather can make them feel sad.

That’s just how students are in general nowadays. Oh well 🤷‍♀️ Whoever wants to do well, makes an effort and asks for help — I will concentrate my efforts there. The rest? See ya next year. I’m tenured and my life goes on.

it has to do with the amount of time that you go without a break. From August to Thanksgiving is a killer.

Over the last couple of years the son has refused to change the title back to her and claims it's his inheritance. Is there any way around this? What type of attorney, if any, can she contact to get the title back to her name?
