Input needed. Received offer from McK as a manager on solutions side. Currently Sr. associate at boutique (generalist). Just received a promotion to engagement manager that I thought I had no shot at. New comp is now slightly higher than McK offer. Am I crazy to question the jump? What other things should I be considering? Exit opps, benefits, advancement, etc. Thinking I should leave to get McK on the resume, but hard to leave money on the table. Realize a lot of factors, but any thoughts? TIA

Got the following offers on the table:

1. Big 4 - Manager, $180k + $20k sign on, told a good expectation is 12-15% bonus next year. 1.5% 401k match and 3% pension contribution. First year cash would be around $225k
2. New, well funded advisory arm of an established business - Engagement manager, $210k, 20-25% bonus. 2.5% 401k match. First year cash closer to $250k

Big 4 is a defined path with history, reputation, and exits. Other place is largely unknown but a lot of comp.

What do you think?

Could someone at McKinsey explain this? My understanding is that the hierarchy at McKinsey goes from Junior Associate to Associate to Engagement Manager to Associate Partner and finally Partner. On the McKinsey career site, I see several position advertised as Consultant ("implementation consultant", "Healthcare Consultant"). Are these contract-based temporary roles? Or do these positions align more to an Engagement Manager level?

I was recently offered a Senior 3 position at EY within GSP in a tier 2 city. Starting base salary is $130k with a signing bonus of 6k. Really just seeking guidance on what I can reasonably negotiate regarding salary, signing bonus, and other benefits. I have 6 YOE and was initially interviewing for a manager position. I was offered S3 as a trial year to become acclimated to EY's culture before being promoted to manager.

Retirement question: Currently 23 and will max my 401k ($19,500) but wondering if Roth or traditional is best here? Currently 24% tax bracket, so with a Roth I will be taxed upfront $4680, but if I go traditional I will additionally put $4680 to work in a traditional IRA (essentially either way I will be committing $24,180 to retirement yearly). In this case, would a Roth or traditional be a better choice? I feel more invested early to compound is important, but will taxes be exuberant in 40yrs?

If you live in a state that has WEP and GPO and you have your 40 quarters you may want to contact your congressmen. The social security fairness act is being voted on next month. I have met full retirement age and can get the ss that I earned. I have started taking it because it reduces to 1/3 in retirement

So this is more a Google sheet question but figured I'd still check with this bowl.

From a monthly file I created/recorded a macro to sort / format. I'm now trying to automate a task that filters 1 column, creates a new tab, copy page to new tab.

My recorded macro using both relative or absolute referencing creates a new tab but then will copy paste to the original tab I created the macro out of and not the new tab.

This is my first time doing macros so any help would be appreciated!

My company blames my generation for not being able to hire everyday. “You guys don’t want to work” coming from some overweight, racist, old coaster. I’ve barely taken any days off this year and pick up “skeleton crew” days any chance I get. I was able to work out a deal with my company before I came because of prior experience luckily, but they offer a terrible base salary and sham of a commission structure to new hires + no remote. Then sit here and can’t figure out why…
