First year Engagement Manager / Project Leader total comp at MBB? Ideally broken down by salary, bonus, and benefits
In my early thirties, still an Engagement Manager only making $355k basic, plus benefits and guarenteed minimum bonus of $100k. What did I do wrong? #Satire #DoesAnyoneElseFeelThisTypeOfDiscussionHappensWayToMuchHere? #WhyDoSoManyPeepsNeedValidation? Not trying to put people down, but seems there are far too many people on the hamster wheel just churning and in need of validation. Any thoughts? Am I off base?
Make 70k currently in tier 2 city. What’s the max I should spend on rent? Currently maxing 401k and IRA but otherwise super cheap lifestyle
If my employer matches retirement contributions (up to 4%), should I opt for a traditional pre tax 401k or Roth 401k? My base salary is 85k. In addition, how much of my base salary do you recommend I contribute to my 401k?
Firm does not match 401k. Expected to have higher income than now when I retire; no 401k is the way to go? Am I missing something?
What do you think about going lawschool? Got promoted to senior manager ( audit) but would like to change the career. ( early 30s) Any benefits of cpa+ jd?
I’m paying $1600 a mos for my benefits and that’s with a $9k family deductible. Is that what you are paying too?
How many of you have rental properties? I am done maxing 401k, IRA and putting $ in index funds. But haven’t had the time to research investment properties or courage to pull the trigger. Missing out?
How many of your have kept their CSR and not switched to another card since it’s launch in 2016? Tempted to switch as I’ve used all CSR benefits including a vacation.
First year out of college. Given your experience, better to max out traditional 401K or Roth 401K now? I know the basics but can't decide.
My benefits page shows that the before tax contribution and Roth 401k contribution can both be matched by my company (up to 6%) which do I choose ? I thought Roth wasn't matched?
Looking to hire a full-time junior designer in Chicago. Multinational agency, cool clients, all the benefits and unlimited PTO. Message me with q’s and for more info. (Also posted on job board bowl)
Does anyone know what Discover's tuition reimbursement plan is? Do you have to work there for a certain length before being eligible or a contract for how long you must remain there afterwards?
Anyone valuate the fringe benefits from traveling (no groceries, points, status)? For me, yearly: ~$20k: groceries ~$1k: 100k airline miles ~$1.5k: 300k Marriott ~$1.5k: chase TOT = $24k net Thoughts?
Would it be worth it to get my MBA after being in PA for less than 2 years? My tuition is free until I turn 26 (turning 23 this year), but I’d probably come right back to being a staff afterwards. If I had passed the CPA exams already I’d probably just leave for school, but I’m not sure what value an MBA would add right now
My company is sub on my project and the prime are, to put it delicately, extremely frustrating. Advice?
Was walking into the office on Thursday (midday in San Diego) and an SUV rolls by and a dude yells, “You f****** n*****!” I had no idea what to do and was with my non-black employees. Thoughts?
What does a Financial Analyst at Google do? I’m 1 year into post-MBA level and wondering if it makes sense, since it’s not as “prestigious” as S&O but really looking for an exit from consulting...
A lot of childhood memories at those restaurants. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.latimes.com/business/story/2020-05-07/souplantations-buffet-restaurants-closing-coronvirus%3f_amp=true
Looking for advice on how to get off a client engagement. I’m on a big audit client that’s year round - notorious for burning good employees out. The managers on the job are difficult to work with and won’t spend the time to actually coach people. I’ve been working crazy hours trying to get everything done they ask of me while still making sure to coach and assist other staff/seniors but it’s been too much for me to handle. I’ve gotten good reviews thus far but want to ask to come off the job.
Considering companies are cutting raises and bonuses, have any of you found new jobs that are giving a pretty considerable % increase? Or is the job search coming up low on salary offerings too?
What is Bains Senior Specialist compensation range in MCOL city? Also, how does the specialist track progress? Would it be better than a more generalist track at big 4 or sub big 4?
Interviewing for a role to transition out of consulting and I’ve only ever done consulting. Any tips on how to craft your story to make you sound like you have many experiences, rather than just consulting. If anyone also has resources that have helped them prep for behavioral / situational questions that would be so helpful !
Hey ladies i’m having some mascara woes. 😞 No matter what I do my undereye area screams “raccoon" come 5 pm! I have very oily eyelids and glasses so i’m sure that is the culprit, but i’ve tried cont.
Left an okay position at my previous agency to lead as an in-house strategic position. The stuff I'm being assigned isn't like anything that was shared in my interview. Feels like I'm dying inside.
What level do you need to be in consulting to qualify for a manager role at google? Assuming it's not a typical industry role where a consultant level (3 years post undergrad) qualifies
