I just found out I’ll be getting laid off in a month. I’ve contemplated freelancing for a while but haven’t worked on more than 1-2 small clients at a time on the side of work. How do I know when it’s the right time to take the plunge into freelancing?

I had 2 30 min interviews (Friday & today) & got an email from HR that they’re putting an offer letter together. Feels fast, but they are onboarding a new client so staffing up. Am I the only one that despite doing a pretty good job, am constantly concerned about randomly getting fired? lol

I was laid off in June. Most consulting companies are on a hiring freeze that I’ve talked to. It’s pretty hard on my psyche to not get down on myself. I worked so hard to get to Deloitte and now it feels like I’m starting over. It’s tough. Any advice on companies that are hiring? I only want to go if it is a fit not just anywhere you know. Thanks.

I was laid off from Deloitte in the 18th. I have an interview with Amazon for a Senior Program Managers Non Technical position with Amazon hiring manager on Monday. Any advice would be much appreciated. I would love to get into Amazon. I hear their interview process is brutal.

Anyone here familiar with the hiring process of KPMG consulting in Van? Had a partner interview on Nov 21, thought the feedback was positive but haven't heard back yet (no rejection/offer). Is it something normal or the interview just didn't go as well as I thought?

It's an experienced hire for an SC role. I saw the posting is still open atm, and my guess is that the recruiting team is comparing candidates since competition is higher due to recent layoffs.

What exactly is the "change in strategy" at Deloitte that people are using to explains the layoffs?

In the state of CA for a full time non-exempt role. If fired without warning (no previous warnings/feedback) ⚠️ for "performance" (although performance was arguably good) or actually "team fit" (politics), do you have any case or legal standing?

How do the firms compare with covid impact (layoffs, pay cuts, revenue loss, return to work plans, etc)?

Deloitte people. I confirm layoffs of 4 ranked individuals and this year it's been hard rankings. Many 3s forced into 4. I was on the calls. Beware. Not trying to scare. Sharing facts.

Does anyone have advice on how to advance my career to the next level? I have 18 years of contact center experience (at the same company) from entry level to management. I was told in order to be an operations manager, I would need a degree and experience outside my department. I just graduated from college and returned to the contact center after working for 1.5 years in a billing department. I’m so ready to lead a contact center but there aren’t opportunities with my employer. Should I leave?

I am a business strategy consultant working at MBB in the US. I am looking to switch to a product management or strategy role in tech companies. Ideally I would switch to a company in the US and then transfer to India for about a year within a few months.

Suggestions on companies that have such options to transfer to India?

Is there a minimum time I have to work in the US before transferring to India?

Would you ask about the India transfer while recruiting or after?
