I'm surprised more people didn't see it coming, if I'm honest. How could it *not* backfire? Kids (and many adults) don't read as it is, now you put screens in their hands for 7 more hours a day on top of what they do on their own time. Seriously, what did we think was going to happen? I was mocked on this site a while ago for saying that little kids using calculators from the earliest moment possible is one of the major reasons why they're so bad at math. Now add AI to the mix, and the kids are not going to learn ANYTHING. I've been told more than once to get with the times and just accept what's coming. Well, we're seeing what "getting with the times" has done, and now that the results are in, the same people who pushed the screens on us in the first place are acting like it's some great revelation that it has negative effects on kids.

Just give the current administration more time to dismantle the Department of Education and push AI into every single crevice of society and things will turn right around.

How on earth do we expect our kids to progress at rates that are acceptable when they’re undeveloped brain is working against so many competing thoughts? And we know it, and we’re okay with it?
