How to get over imposter syndrome? Came from consulting and moved into a program manager role and I’m the first hire in this role and have the potential to build out a team and make lasting impact. Its week 1 and I feel like I’m in way over my head! How do you shake this feeling? I know I can do the job but I am sometimes my own worst enemy when it comes to pushing myself outside my comfort zone. Hubs has been helpful in hyping me up but I still feel so imposter-y.

Interviewed for an M but got downleveled. (I live in a reasonable cost of living city, estimates put it 35% cheaper than Seattle) Amazon: L6 - Sr Program Manager role (Seattle) 135K base, 70K signon over 2 years, $110K RSUs. I’m already a manager with 5yoe, so feeling ACN is downleveling. Coming from Industry!

Can any Facebook people please chime in here (or those in consulting who have recently interviewed)… I’ve been told by my FB recruiter that the base for the Privacy Program Manager role which they reached out to me about is 105-110k, with 60k equity over 4 years. This feels way out of wack… I am currently at 145k TC, 5 YOE, without even being at the M level yet. Can anyone weigh in? TIA!

Option 1: Stay at Deloitte. Raise to 135k base, 10k spot retention bonus, and likely high end of bonus/salary increase with promo from SC to M (GPS) Option 2: Senior Program Manager, fintech startup w/ 600 employees, 140k + 15k variable + approx 20k equity vesting annually, with significant upside. Cool new role, but love my team and momentum at D. Leaving is definitely the right choice... isn't it?

Finally I have 2 offers to get out of this place. Both new roles are a step up and pay the same in federal space. One is a very small company doing a traditional SM of PMs role, non sdlc pmo work. Other is a large company as a Program Manager, overseeing a staff of ~25 doing sdlc- some agile. I eventually want to go big tech for an IC role. I feel like the smaller company position is more aligned with IC role. My only scare is I will be out of touch on emerging tech and practices.
Has anyone transitioned out of consulting and into a Technical Program Manager role? What is your advice to someone who is looking into this switch?

32F, 10 YOE at two big 4’s in both tech and HC. Tough decision and want input! Options: 1. Offer to go to Deloitte as SM $200k+ 2. Admitted to NYU and Columbia full time Bschool programs - no scholarship at either 3. Admitted to Darden w more than half scholarship 4. Offer to go to Two FANGS as a program manager, 150k base, 75k annual equity (non technical role) I don’t love what I do but seems I could make partner in 3-5 years at D. Having tough time turning down Columbia Bschool or FANG.

I was laid off from a resource management role, working with employees approaching or on the bench, working with managers to staff projects, and support functions like report creation, scheduling, etc. Roles like this are few and many large consulting firms have frozen internal hiring. Do you think it would be beneficial to get a SHRM cert? Would that help get a "talent related" HR role? Worth the money? I have a background in recruitment as well.
