I am looking to hire a mid level associate for my team. How can I conduct an effective interview to find someone who be committed to our work? Interviews are so superficial.

Hi 🐠 ! If I’m 100% new to casing (have a business degree but have been in audit for a year), how long do you recommend practicing case interviews to be strong at it? Is 6-8 weeks sufficient? Would likely be applying for analyst/associate roles. My friends in consulting keep reassuring me that it’s a learned skill but after watching my first case interview ngl I’m pretty intimidated 😅

My son was going to part time preschool and on Wednesday the school told me they have opening for full time and would be happy to take mine FT . I told our nanny the same and she started looking for jobs elsewhere and also got interviews lined up. Today I send an email to the director confirming the tuition and they say for my son’s future it is best he only attends part time as he is highly spirited. Apparently he had a meltdown today. I am beyond irritated and wanted to vent somewhere.

I recently started a new job as HR Generalist at a small government contracting company. I only make about $66k/ year when previous i started closer to $45k but as a single parent of a kid in daycare, im struggling. I want advice on the best way to build my career as fast as possible to reach by goal of making $100k within the next 3 years in HR. What should I do to further myself professionally as fast as I can? SHRM classes? certs? PHR? all resources welcome!

I have an offer to a commercial real estate company in hand. My current brokerage (residential focus) wants me to pay $3000 penalty since I’m breaking the contract and leaving. I’m financially struggling and 3k is a big number to pay now. The new job will be paying me $2000/month up until the first year only. Is it wise to pay or stick around in residential sales just to avoid that penalty?

I have a friend in London that has a fantastic offer from GS - he will also be in HR. But he currently has a pending charge against him that his lawyer is pretty confident that he can get the case thrown out. My boss has been pushing back our conversation on a hybrid schedule for me since I started. From the first day I was interviewed, I was told how I’d have a hybrid schedule like everyone else - which is a big reason why I took the job.
