Does anyone remember RateMyProfessors.com? Where you could go to the site and get a sense of the professor before signing up for one of their classes?
We need something like that but with managers! It’s so hard to tell from a few interactions if that person is going to shape the next few years of your life in a positive or negative way. This would be a perfect solution. Who else is on board?

Yes, although, I think there’s an argument that is a little invasive and unfair on the person say, if they were just having a bad year which contributed to being a bad manager. It may cause people to become hyper vigilant and over analyse themselves. Reminds me of that one episode of black mirror. (S3 E1?)
I think a better idea is mandatory training for all managers on how to manage people effectively.
I understand your viewpoint, but it’s a two way street. Direct reports can also have a bad year as well and are usually not given grace for it.
