Anybody else think next year is going to be worse for layoffs than this year? A lot of clients are setting up their 2021 budgets and allocating very little for capital projects. Seems like next year will be extremely light since customers aren’t spending as much. Hence more layoffs in consulting.

generally speaking, do government agencies actually demand more from you if you’re in a higher vs. a lower salary tier/division e.g., I vs. II, II vs. III, III vs. IV, etc.? Perhaps there’s a difference between maybe I and III but is there a significant difference in responsibilities and performance expectations between II and III, or III and IV for example?

I graduated at the height of the pandemic, Spring 2020, with my BA of Computer Science and there wasn’t really any in-person positions or internships available. I felt I really needed an opportunity like that to solidify my skills. Now, 2 years later, I am still serving tables and I am wanting to launch back into my tech career. Should I only focus on getting my coding skills back or are there less technical jobs that I could maybe be qualified for based on soft skills and degree alone?
