Anyone here who works at Venable? In IP Department ideally. Looking for your thoughts about firm culture generally, work life-balance, how the atmosphere is for women, how the working relationships between staff and attorneys seems, how turnover is these days, etc. Am considering applying for a position there that would remote working and I think would be a job that does work for all of the offices that have IP groups (which may be all of them?)

like

Any paralegals, legal assistants, or other staff here work at Venable, specifically the IP Department? Would love your take on firm culture, how paralegals/staff fit in there (a team atmosphere vs the more typical big law attorney/staff stratification, for example), does work/life balance exist (hey, it’s good to have dreams!), are they actually supportive of remote working? Looking at a remote staff position, based in San Fransisco office.

Hi Fishes, I got a job offer from Nagarro at 24LPA, designation is staff engineer. I feel I should get atleast 28LPA and senior staff engineer role. What do you guus think? How should I negotiate more? I have 24LPA offer from EPAM anywhere and Nagarro matched that offer I think. YOE: 9+ years, Skill: Java Fullstack developer

What does someone in a “Chief of Staff” role do in industry vs consulting? Genuinely curious, it seems like an above and beyond role, but I’m not sure I fully understand what those extra responsibilities entail!

I wanted to know if I made a right choice or not. I had 2 offers. 1. Nagarro - 27.5 LPA + 1L Joining Bonus Role: Staff Engineer (Lead) 2. Eli Lilly - 30.2 LPA + 1.5L Joining Bonus Role: Manager I chose Nagarro as it is in my home city and there is not much difference in inhand salary as Nagarro salary components is pretty good in saving taxes. But in terms of work culture and service vs product based companies, did I made a right decision?

Staff and seniors without your CPA, what's the number one reason why you don't have your license and what's the number one thing your firm could offer you to get it? Especially interested in those at big four where the incentive already includes the cost of study materials, four exam fees, application fee, and a $5000/$3000 bonus if passed in 1 or 2 years from joining. Bigger bonus (name your price)? Greater position on the team? More PTO? Exam fee forgiveness if you fail an exam? Etc?

I’m 4 rounds into the interview process for an Assistant Controller position in SoCal. For the next round, I’ll be meeting with the Controller, Accounting Manager, and 5 other junior accounting staff. I’ll have 30 minutes to explain a month-end close task (of my choice) to the accounting team. Also, I’ll have to analyze a random reconciliation and explain improvements that can be made. I’m just a 2nd year manager, so I’m getting so nervous, and any insight or tips would be appreciated!

Genuine question: What are the most common exit options at Google BizOps? (1) For internal transfer to PM, those teams seem to prefer to hire Google engineers. (2) For internal transfer to Chief of Staff, why those teams don’t promote their own Strategy & Op folks? (3) For BizOps internal promotion, there are not many Director positions. (4) For leaving Google, I don’t know where people usually go… Please share your thoughts / correct me if I’m wrong. Thanks!

Hello all! Finally I have 2 offers to get out of this place. Both new roles are a step up and pay the same in federal space. One is a very small company doing a traditional SM of PMs role, non sdlc pmo work. Other is a large company as a Program Manager, overseeing a staff of ~25 doing sdlc- some agile. I eventually want to go big tech for an IC role. I feel like the smaller company position is more aligned with IC role. My only scare is I will be out of touch on emerging tech and practices.
