Why would anyone under the age of 25 want to work for a holding company advertising agency? Inbred corruption. History of not hiring people of color. Or hiring them and making them ‘write White’. The history of abusing defrauding and demeaning women. Currently in the middle of a huge ageism epidemic. Human resources that reports right back to managers. Under paying staff while overcharging clients. These agencies will die from lack of clients but even quicker from lack of new talent.
I am about to be promoted to senior at a PA firm: is it a step down to take an industry staff accountant role? I don't know how I feel about being a 'staff when I worked hard to get that senior title.
Got an offer from a fin-tech firm in SF for Chief of Staff role with a shot at being Chief Strategy Officer in 1-1.5 yrs- 400k+100k variable. No Esops yet. Hesitant of leaving consulting. Thoughts?

So what’s the story with all of these very senior diversity and inclusion officers at many of the big advertising agencies? Have they accomplished the hiring of more diverse staff? Or are they just for show? Ours has been here for a few years and there hasn’t been one more African American strategic planner, creative, or account executive hired in that time. Has this position made a difference for people?
What are the benefits of being in a staff augmentation role at a client over traditional consulting projects?

I am an A2 soon to be S1 and I really don’t want to be in PA anymore and don’t care about job titles really. Is it dumb to take a position in industry as a staff accountant

I am considered for Chief of staff role at a relatively small ($600M) company, is this just a glorified assistant role? Looking for opinions about the role if anyone else has experience & whether ctd.
Not sure if it is Covid related or burnout from accelerating work in tax, but does anybody have a personal success story on how to re-energize as a staff? Or once you have checked out mentally is there no turning back? I have just stopped caring as much as I did even as recently as a month ago, with a growing pile of work sitting with me, and I want to figure out how to get back in the mindset that helped me succeed before. Currently a TC2 expecting to transition into Senior TC role.
Thoughts Chief of Staff roles? Was reached out to for a CoS to CEO position, decent size company (~$1b Val), but have zero clue what to expect. Doing some DD before I talk to the CEO.
Interested in applying to other Big 4, but as a staff (1-2 YOE) I feel like I don't know a lot and worry about getting offers, but I feel like I'll grow more outside my current role. (Cont'd)
Emirates airlines broke our stroller. Has anyone complained to the airline or used credit card insurance?
Applying to work at Microsoft, can anyone speak to the culture there? Did you miss consulting after switching over? Is it woman friendly?
Does anyone know if we can use our work phone when traveling to Mexico/Canada or if international roaming still applies? On Verizon and not sure what the coverage is outside the US
What is the Senior Associate to Consultant pay bump? I’ve heard rumors it may be less than MBA recruit consultant pay this year...
Me and my SO make $320k, we have a child with special needs and we live in expensive Boston suburb, because of the public school system. We’ve been renting 2BDR 1500 sq feet for the past 6 years, our current rent is $3100, and our lease expires in the end of June. Landlord wants to know if we plan to renew for the same price. We can potentially look into buying kinda fixer-upper, ask for lower price or move out into bigger house. Thoughts?
Next Prediction for H1b: if you're not going to the office i.e. if you're working from home, leave the country. Kinda obvious move right? I'm a high five you if you predicted this before I break some furniture and cry in the corner.
Anybody else feel like they're completely mailing it in lately? I've just lost all motivation to do "good work". How am I still like 30 years away from retirement 🙈
A ban on big business’ efforts to merge with or acquire distressed small businesses will help protect markets from corporate control, but alone it won’t be enough. Other necessary steps include bolstering the small business-oriented Paycheck Protection Program and freezing utility payments. And, of course, small businesses will still have the option of combining to survive this crisis—the merger moratorium would apply only to those giant businesses receiving money through a federal institution.
It doesn't matter how often it happens, it kind of sucks when the grown ups go present to the client while you sit in the team room alone 😔
Reminder to the visitors in this bowl: you are that, a visitor. Respect the space or leave. This app is toxic enough without you bringing that coronavirus bowl energy in here. Thank you.
Thoughts on buying preowned Sub versus new? Aside from cost, what are some other important factors?
About to go on a first date post-quarantine. How do people say hello these days on dates? My usual would be a kiss on the cheek but suspect in our current times that’s not going to be suitable. For context we are going for outside drinks so masks are going to have to come off.
Thoughts on exiting to Wayfair in manager role owning P&L. Comp is 20% lower and moving from NYC to Boston. 4 YOE
