Yeah 100%, I finally now work with people my age and I am so much happier at work. I used to be the youngest by about 20 years in most places I worked before and don't get me wrong I got on really well with most of them, but it is just different when the age gap isn't as big. I don't even need to think about the way I speak etc. May sound silly but makes a huge difference!
Ugh. I felt so alone at my last job until ppl my own age started coming in and I finally had a little group of friends. I’m actually hanging out with them tomorrow! At my new job, everyone is older by around 20 years, and I do feel very alone. They’re all very nice, and I definitely learn from their experience, but it doesn’t compare to actually having friends at work.
