I’ve dealt with this before and it’s tricky because calling it out directly can backfire. What worked for me was sticking to specific situations instead of making it personal. When you frame it around consistency and how it impacts the team, it’s harder for people to dismiss.

That’s the one-consistency! They can’t dispute that. When the ball is in their court to maintain that consistency, they are basically on notice that we notice their inconsistencies
It comes down to the person who is in charge and whether they are open to feedback on it. A fair workplace operates so much better, but that is not what most bosses see.
That’s a really good point. I’m sure most don’t even realize what they are doing. Would be nice to have more openness. Most managers feel like they can do no wrong.
You could try addressing it with your manager. I will say, those talks don't usually go over well in my experience. There is always favoritism and politics in the workplace, but it might be worth a try.
