I am completely surprised of how low compensation is in TX. For any of you that have visibility to pay ranges what is your experience with pay ranges for your company?

Hi Everyone! I’m currently a Surgical Assistant doing plastics in Colorado. May have to move to Dallas for my Fiancé’s job so was wondering if there is any similar job options in the DFW area? I’m a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant finishing my undergrad. Started as a scribe/MA doing minor procedures for quite some time and most recently a Surgical Assistant in the OR for about 2 years. I found a place in Fort Worth that I love plus its in budget. But the drive world turn into an hour and fifteen. I’m on contract to buy a new built home next year for about ~$500k but it’s far north of DFW. Recently I’m getting worried that it would be better for me to buy an older home but closer to the DFW for the same price. Disregarding rates for now. Commute to work is something I’m iffy about too.
Question is: New built home/longer commute vs older home/shorter commute and proximity to some locations.

My wife and I liked a house, new build priced at 750k in dfw area top school district, top community thinking of 200k down payment. House will be ready in may 2023.
