Deloitte GPS folks, was browsing job postings and wanted to get an understanding on what locations outside the DC area Deloitte is actively hiring in, and recommendations on job titles I should be looking for as an Audit Manager looking to transfer to the consulting side. Thanks!
If you’re interested into internal audit position at Citi for a senior auditor(AVP), audit manager (VP), senior manager (SVP), or Director levels, let me know and I will put a referral for you. I love it so far! Working 40hrs per week on very interesting projects and making more $$$!!!
Ex audit manager here…recently put into the role of being the audit point of contact person with my firm for our auditors (pwc). Work in the private equity industry. Anyone who has done it before have any tips (and things to avoid doing) they can share?
I'm a newly promoted audit manager. I'm happy that I got promoted and I'm happy with my new salary/bonus etc. But my concern is that due to the heavy turnover in my firm, I'm stuck on the senior role on some jobs. It's a little frustrating since I know I could take on the manager role for these jobs but staffing is an issue. It's definitely bothering me a little even though I understand why. For those in this situation or have been in this situation, how have you dealt with it?
Left public accounting as an Audit Manager to take a Controller position in private. Realizing I don’t want to get stuck in a Controller position LT and would like to possibly be in FP&A if I stayed in private. Have always had an interest in FDD and I am considering leaving private for FDD. Any thoughts on this potential move & if it would improve my chances of getting into FP&A later on?
If I leave my firm to go work at a public client (where I currently serve as a manager on the audit team) as their Internal Audit Manager would this impair the firms independence as being in a position of influence?
IT Compliance Manager vs IT Internal Audit Manager role in the industry. What would you choose as your next role and why? Trying to decide the right exit option.
Would it be difficult to get a job in IA if most of my experience has been auditing private non-404 asset mgmt funds? I really enjoy process walkthroughs when I have them though. Also, does title matter that much in IA? I’m a manager now, but based on job descriptions it looks like I might have to go for a senior auditor role because audit manager roles generally call for 8+ years from what I’m seeing. Can title be negotiated?
Is it right move to leave first-year audit manager for an industry financial reporting manager position?? Goal is to make CFO.
Exit opportunities for an IT audit manager within compliance? Experience at EY is limited to SOX and Soc work. Would like to get experience in compliance or regularly work. Compliance is very general so not sure what to look in the job descriptions.
Fishes: any tips or specific areas I should revisit or familiarize myself with for an Internal Audit Manager position?
My friend just got an offer for an Cybersecurity Internal Audit Manager/VP role at a bank for $140k. Is this a good salary, he has 5 YOE all consulting in big4, lives in HCOL.
What are some things to consider/ask when deciding between an internal audit manager role at a Fortune 500 company vs. a mid-cap. The mid-cap has same salary with 7-15% higher bonus dependent on performance. I’m somewhat stuck on whether the prestige / growth opps At the Fortune 500 are enough to outweigh the comp difference.
Has anyone left as an audit manager for a controller position at a Bank or Financial Institution? What salary increase did you get? What are the hours/stress/benefits like? Are you happy with your decision? I understand there are many factors but I would love to hear from those who have made this transition.
Any recommendations for lower stress roles for a newly minted audit manager? Looking for something with less stress, exit opportunities after 3-5 years maybe, and $100k+ in mid COL area.
An opportunity sort of fell into my lap and wanted to get other thoughts. Internal audit manager role, 100% remote, 20% base increase plus better benefits. I work on a lot of audits on the tax side so am familiar with audit. M4 in big 4, not sold on staying in tax. Would I be qualified and is this a terrible idea?
Can y’all help me think through the pros/cons of leaving as a Big 4 audit manager into a controller position at a small but growing company vs moving into a finance manager role for a Fortune 500 company?
Has anyone in the national firms moved from an SEC focused audit manager role to your standards and professional practice group? What was your experience like in the transition? How are your hours, and compensation? Thanks in advance!

Hi! I’m looking to move into management consulting, preferably one of the big 3. I’m currently an experienced audit manager at EY. Are those firms doing layoffs/hiring freezes? Any insight would be appreciated!
I was laid off from a resource management role, working with employees approaching or on the bench, working with managers to staff projects, and support functions like report creation, scheduling, etc. Roles like this are few and many large consulting firms have frozen internal hiring. Do you think it would be beneficial to get a SHRM cert? Would that help get a "talent related" HR role? Worth the money? I have a background in recruitment as well.
I’ve got verbal offer from both PwC and Deloitte for the Workday Financial Role; Deloitte as a Senior Consultant and PWC as a Senior Associate..I need ideas on which to choose in terms of Pay, Career path, Work Culture and any other relevant information. Thank you!

What is your opinion on ByteDance as a company in the US? They seem to be in the midst of a hiring surge despite news of a potential ban on Tiktok. A cousin of mine received an offer from the company and I’ve advised him against it for job security reasons, but curious about why they’re still hiring so much in the US at this point in time.

Have an interview in an hour. Leaving my firm after 3 months bc the role is far less challenging and fulfilling than I anticipated, and the role’s responsibilities are way off from the job description. Should I voluntarily explain why I’m leaving so soon or should I only bring it up if asked?

Yidden, I've been slowly drifting away from religion. It's odd because I used to be so connected, and I still retain the same values! Technology, however, has made religious ritual feel so lifeless, and I can barely muster the energies to maintain even a bare Jewish lifestyle. I become so sad when I see my friends becoming more connected, while I find myself gradually falling away 😞... HELP!
I just started at my firm’s main office as a first year after a brief deferral. My partner received a job offer while I was a 3L in a nearby city (think Houston/Dallas, NYC/DC) where my firm has a small office. Fortunately, he’s currently WFH (so living w/ me) until late 2021 or early 2022, at which time I would like to switch offices to move with him. How do I go about ensuring this move will be approved? I figure I have a year to get a good reputation so the firm will let me?
Have 46 nights on Marriott Bonvoy this year - no more work travel so if I want to get to 50 I’d have to stay 4 nights personal - have my plat status renewed for next year so staying the 4 nights would only be for getting the 5 suite night upgrades - never had them before so wondering if they’re worth spending ~$700 in essence just for them? What would u guys do?
