IT Compliance Manager vs IT Internal Audit Manager role in the industry. What would you choose as your next role and why? Trying to decide the right exit option.
Would it be difficult to get a job in IA if most of my experience has been auditing private non-404 asset mgmt funds? I really enjoy process walkthroughs when I have them though. Also, does title matter that much in IA? I’m a manager now, but based on job descriptions it looks like I might have to go for a senior auditor role because audit manager roles generally call for 8+ years from what I’m seeing. Can title be negotiated?
Is it right move to leave first-year audit manager for an industry financial reporting manager position?? Goal is to make CFO.

Fishes: any tips or specific areas I should revisit or familiarize myself with for an Internal Audit Manager position?
My friend just got an offer for an Cybersecurity Internal Audit Manager/VP role at a bank for $140k. Is this a good salary, he has 5 YOE all consulting in big4, lives in HCOL.
What are some things to consider/ask when deciding between an internal audit manager role at a Fortune 500 company vs. a mid-cap. The mid-cap has same salary with 7-15% higher bonus dependent on performance. I’m somewhat stuck on whether the prestige / growth opps At the Fortune 500 are enough to outweigh the comp difference.
Has anyone left as an audit manager for a controller position at a Bank or Financial Institution? What salary increase did you get? What are the hours/stress/benefits like? Are you happy with your decision? I understand there are many factors but I would love to hear from those who have made this transition.
Any recommendations for lower stress roles for a newly minted audit manager? Looking for something with less stress, exit opportunities after 3-5 years maybe, and $100k+ in mid COL area.
An opportunity sort of fell into my lap and wanted to get other thoughts. Internal audit manager role, 100% remote, 20% base increase plus better benefits. I work on a lot of audits on the tax side so am familiar with audit. M4 in big 4, not sold on staying in tax. Would I be qualified and is this a terrible idea?
Can y’all help me think through the pros/cons of leaving as a Big 4 audit manager into a controller position at a small but growing company vs moving into a finance manager role for a Fortune 500 company?

Looking for advice! I’m a SA (almost 1 yr in role) was an A for 2 yrs. Client is a tech company who I enjoy working with but I am hitting a wall in my role due to technical skills. The next step would be to go deep in the technical learning, which I don’t think is what I want to do. The alternative path for my team is project management, which I don’t want either. I’m interested in product management (would likely start with Associate Product Manager role) for a different tech company (Cont)
Is it appropriate for junior consultants to connect on LinkedIn with senior clients from a project? I’m about to roll off my project and want to keep in touch with these clients given they work in my dream exit job. For context, the client is senior in title but relatively young (mid 30s) so not like retirement aged executive who may find my networking too forward. We had great interactions throughout but no explicit invite to connect on LinkedIn. TIA!
Just got rejected from my 7th role with FAANG while all my friends around me are getting offers left and right. Although I feel like career is going through sh*t, I am still so lucky. I have friends and family that love me and that beats any offers from top companies. I have to keep that in mind as not to let myself feel like I’m a failure in life.

Please let me know if I’m missing anything. When it comes to investing vs. paying off debt, ppl say paying off debt makes you sleep better at night. But if I get fired tomorrow, I would not have $ for my monthly bills if I have been focusing on paying off debt. It’s not like i can reborrow student loans? So.. Wouldn’t I sleep better if I invest, because at least I will have more liquidity and can dip into my investment if I get fired?

What would you do in this scenario? Been working with a recruiter for a lateral to a big law firm. Went through three rounds of interviews, lateral questionnaire and conflict check. Then, recruiter indicates good news (offer) is coming by email soon. She also indicated they are calling references. She gets good feedback and then, indicated they want a partner rec. Sadly, most of the firms I left were pissed when I quit because they took it personally. Not unusual since they were boutique firms..
