How long have you been there and do you know what the reality of handling these things will be? And what is your current/actual job?
The reason I asked is that depending how work flows, the performance may be the company’s fault not the agency’s and taking responsibility for that on may be a nightmare. Seems you should have some visibility into that from where you sit. I like the “I can save us money and do a better job” positioning tied to a role shift and salary bump - but I would make sure you would be setting yourself up for success. Also be careful that isn’t perceived as “cool, we save $75k and you double your workload” - if you aren’t responsible for the agency relationship now, maybe that is a first step in asking for added ownership that you can use to either make the agency relationship and results better or validate that it is underwhelming and pitch a more permanent change. Or perhaps carve out a piece of what they did and negotiate a smaller agency renewal with more focus.
If you have the energy to tackle several new areas at once amid bigger change, certainly go for it! Just sharing some ideas to help you answer your question about “should” - I typically land in the never hurts to ask camp, but also try to play out the ways it could go well or go wrong and see if I have a plan for both. Good luck!
