What about an HR generalist role? I think a lot of it depends on what you want to do and what kind of human resources you're drawn to.
I have considered HR generalist role as it has a variety but I am not too interested in benefits or payroll. I also am looking into business partner roles although it seems a bit intimidating honestly.
I would think people management or just a regular human resources role might be a good option for you. You probably don’t want to join a big corporation based on your experience, but a medium size firm would probably be a good option for you. You might start in an Entry to mid-level position if you haven’t had any true HR experience, but you should be able to get your foot in the door. Of course don’t be disappointed if you get hired in an HR role and they still want you to do some recruiting those tend to go hand and hand.

With your experience, roles like HR generalist, people operations, L&D, or workforce planning could be strong next steps. Emphasise process improvement and cross-functional work, not just hiring.
