Last week I had to explain to my child what “politics” (as in office politics) is. My child is going to a new high school and wants to play volleyball. There was a 3 day open “tryout” for incoming freshman for 2 teams. After the first day, she noticed that
1) there were obvious favorites (coaches are not even hiding that fact);
2) some can’t even play and got on the team,
3) some that can obviously play but did not get on the team;
4) decision were obviously made before the first day was over.

My wife works at a school with kids with behavioral issues. The kids are abusive to the teachers/paras and have hit, kicked, pulled hair, as well as have grabbed the privates of teachers/paras. Nothing is ever done about it by higher up. Recently, the principal got kicked in the leg, and it turns out that the superintendent is “pressing charges” against the kid, but won’t do anything for the teachers/paras. What actions can my wife and the teachers take if the superintendent won't do anything?

Is this a toxic trait.. anytime I have an inconvenience, I look for jobs or do I just hate my job. I have a friend that’ll call me to chat, but she often goes “hang on I’ll call you back.” Majority of the times she calls, she’s either picking up her kids/someone else calls her/she’s ordering food/etc that interrupts the convo and it kinda drives me insane. I get she’s busy as a mom but it’s frustrating to try to hold a convo that gets interrupted for something else making her hang up & call back OR the kids are in the background making noise/she’s talking to them while I’m talking.
