Hello all. I'm a Foreign Medical Graduate who recently moved to US looking fot better life. Currently not Board Certified to work as a physician in US territory. I'm currently working as a Patient Care Technician in a dialysis company because it was the 1st job I could get when I got to the US. Is there any other option I can do where I can get a better pay or growth within the organization? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

You can get a little experience as a Pct for now at least a year then Try to get into a Facility Administrator role if you have management background that will help a lot. I worked for both Davita and Fresenius but they both have excellent student tuition programs if you are interested in getting a degree here in the US while ur waiting.

Thanks. I'll look into it.

Would you consider getting a Bsn? I am a FMG too before I decided to get a nursing degree.

Hello all, we are a 100 ppl cloud company with HQ in the SF Bay Area ( majority of the employees are remote) and we are thinking about improving our time off policy. What does your company’s time off policy look like? We currently offer 10 vacation days and 10 sick days per year for new hires. Not very competitive as you can see ….

Buying in this current market, from the perspective of, I believe cars are overpriced bc of my 2010 mindset/inflation perspective, but I also think $60k is not what it used to be, and will only continue to mean less. So in that sense, I think im kinda into buying a car now, as my monthly payments due to inflation will be less and less, and i have no doubts ill continue to get good raises. I think I’d rather get that $60k car now than 5 years later when it costs $120k. Thoughts?

My Shareholder came into my office yesterday and proceeded to tell me that "we" were getting sloppy & "we" needed to get our billable up and that she had missed things. She made a point to say hers were low & she never gave me info regarding billable time. Our biggest client cuts half our time.
During the interview they never mentioned there were billable req.
1 month ago she was singing my praises. Had been real sick last 2 months and went to HR re med accommodation and now this.

So I got 2 offers, 1 at a well-known firm (that I previously worked at, not as an atty) that offered 80K plus full benefits (100% health coverage, PTO, sick days, discretionary bonus & 1800 billable req.) Their a little old school in their methods but I do see the younger gen. coming in to make changes. 2nd offer is at a newer firm however i’ve heard great things, and they offered 80k, unl. PTO, 1500 billable hours, bonus incentives qrtrly, & 50% health ins. WHY can’t I make a decision? HELP

Hello! I currently have above-average WLB - unlimited PTO, sick days, no weekend work, etc. and also have a really awesome boss who encourages vacations, hard stops (sign off at 5 on the dot), and prioritizing family / health. However, I feel that I’m materially underpaid as an finance manager at a profitable, recession-resilient, high growth company. There have been no inflation-adjusted raises the past two years, which really rubs me the wrong way. Should I pack my bags and look elsewhere?

My partner of 5 years ended our relationship last night. I’m shattered and feel absolutely sick, and I know the healing isn’t going to be easy. We were on the verge of an engagement and I was ready to spend the rest of my life with him.

I don’t know how to approach work during this time. I think I can get by, but I’m definitely not 100%. Should I talk to my boss about it? My team is close-knit and comfortable around each other, but I don’t know if it’s “appropriate.” What would you do?
