Is leaving for a Director level position in the industry a step backwards if an audit senior manager? Fortune 500 company and right under the controller.

Burnt out at audit senior and went industry accounting even though I’m not a CPA and am actually bored to tears. I am looking at going back into a client services role but non audit - anyone else done this? Advice on looking into consulting firms? Much appreciated- off to go post some JEs 😭

Landed a contract role at Deloitte via with MBO Partners for an audit senior role. MBO is making me a W-2 employee at MBO, but I am getting paid $125/hour plus overtime. Am I missing something here or am I about to be making $5K/week (or more with OT)? Anyone have any experience with MBO or doing contract work like this? Obviously way more than I'd make if I stayed at KPMG for busy season.

I’m currently an audit senior at one of big 4 and am interviewing regulatory reporting analyst with a top IBD next week. Is it worth it to transfer? How was the exit opportunity of this position? Any advices is appreciated!

First year B4 audit senior in HCOL area. Making $92k base. 2 years experience. On a 9/30 client so just finished my third busy season. Are there any industry jobs I could switch to for a substantial bump? All the LinkedIn recruiters have industry positions with lower pay, and I’m not looking to switch to an advisory role.

I keep seeing roles described as “Seasonal Audit (Senior) Associate” pop up on LinkedIn from some of the larger firms (both B4 and midsize). I’m curious as to what this entails - I assume it’s a busy season contractor. It sounds like a useful role in theory but im trying to think of experienced professionals who would have the time to do this outside of people re-entering the workforce after some time away.

Anyone have any insight or stories into how these roles work out?

Is it a good exit opportunity for B4 audit senior manager to go work for the PCAOB? Benefits sound nice but not sure what the path of progression is over there.

Has anyone had experience going from audit senior to a financial analyst type role? Been in audit for 3 years. I think I know I don’t want to be an accounting manager or controller. Glad I have the opportunity to learn in my current role but trying to think about next steps in my career.

I talked to a few recruiters about how I want to leave for a financial analyst position and all of them tell me that it’s not likely and that it’s a two step process to get there. They have said I should go with senior accounting roles and then transition after... however that doesn’t seem very convincing to me and I would rather make the move now while I’m still early in my career (first year audit senior). Would appreciate any experiences or advice 😁

My director told me there is a relocate opportunity to move from internal auditor to a financial analyst role, which is in another business unit/city/state and I like that new city more than the current city. I am not sure whether I should accept the opportunity? BTW I am moving to internal audit senior this year while the new role is an entry level financial analyst. I appreciate any suggestions or brainstormings. Thanks!!!!!
