I'd go with ETFs personally instead of single stocks.
Better go with ETF unless you have lots of time to spend researching on a continuous basis
You’ll make more money buying individual stocks than ETF. However, you do need to do your research and stand off of it. If you want to set it and forget it buy an ETF.
Have you thought about JDSU, Global Crossing, Worldcom or ICG? They were very big stocks in the early 00’s. Pick your stocks wisely if you can.
The best thing you can do is buy the Nasdaq. The odds u catch the next big tech giant or get out of the wrong one in time is so unlikely. Given the context you provided I can only assume you have minimal to moderate macro / industry / investing expertise. And nothing wrong with that, just saying that risk / reward is not there for you
QQQ for example. Or if you’re really bullish on AI, buy some semiconductor, cloud, or energy ETFs just to give some idea. Also some pure AI ETFs are out there but not my expertise
