I’m back in the office 5 days a week now (fed gov). Ever since, I’ve developed pretty bad hip pain. I used to work from my standing desk at home but I don’t have that option in the office. I get up every hour to take a walk around the office, take a longer walk at lunch, and go to the gym a few times a week. Nothing is helping :( any recommendations for a seat cushion or something? I can’t think of anything else. Visiting my PCP in a couple weeks.

Can you ask for a medical accommodation for a standing desk? Also, yoga really helps my tight hips!

My work doesn't pay for standing desks but you can buy your own and IT will install them. I bought a desk converter off Facebook marketplace and love it.

Since they can't buy it, I definitely think the move is to get a doctor note and buy a tabletop riser as you've suggested you might. In this instance the accommodation would be them allowing you to use it with the understanding that it is yours and they aren't responsible for its maintenance or replacing it, and should a budget for standing desks become available this does not preclude you from qualifying for one of theirs, and that should you no longer retain employment with them it is yours to take with you.

It seems illegal to stop them from buying a desk. You should ask for remote work until they provide one.

My total YoE is 14 years. I know pretty long stay in TCS. I am happy with the work though I am not a project lead or in some manager position. Got onsite opportunity almost 7 years in support project. But some time seeing my x-teammates who have changed many companies and now in better position, feeling like I would have moved out instead of sticking to 1 company. Now decided I have to come out from this comfort zone. I know it is possible but worried a bit with my exp. I need you guys advice..Plz

Curious to get some input: looking into a golf getaway for my birthday in late February and really honing in on either Kiawah or Pinehurst.

Been to Kiawah before around that time of year and loved it-- the Ocean Course was my favorite golf experience, but I also feel the urge to try something else. Thoughts? TIA!

Guys I am getting 18lpa+2 Jb ....but I am thinking of taking fidelity offer for 23.5 and grade 5.

I am choosing fidelity because IBM is having bond of 2 yrs for 2 lakh joining bonus...and hike is very less in IBM.

Do you think I am choosing right, can anyone tell if IBM is better than fidelity and why?
