Verizon as a client anywhere is bad. They have a thousand stakeholders, unrealistic deadlines, and somehow manage to ruin most good ideas that come their way.
It’s the colonoscopy of accounts: no matter where it’s being handled, it’s going to be uncomfortable, and nothing to look forward to tackling.

Telecom is rough. Fact.
I used to work at Ogilvy on a different account and had several friends on the Verizon account. In short, teleco is a ROUGH category to work on, period. The work is just the same claims and offers repackaged (i.e. we have better coverage, trade in your phone and get a new phone, bundle, etc.). Overall, it's just a bad client to work on anywhere, not necessarily Ogilvy's fault.
I worked on them and most of my experience was very positive; smart, reasonable people, I can think of many clients that were 100 times worse!
