Good thing is you got through it and now you know what to focus on when you take it again. You’ll kill it the next time you take it
I’m hoping I still get a pass, but I was certain on L1.
Chin up King/Queen. You got this.
I read all the CFAI books minus ethics and Econ. Maybe 500 hours over 8 months. Had low stress job and wasn’t drinking / set firm boundaries on everything and everyone (not practical BTW — just jived with frugal lifestyle back then). I am a bad test taker so don’t use my experience as a benchmark.
I recently failed level 3 on the MPS.. as I missed questions too with CBT testing (still getting used to it after passing 1&2 with paper). What I would do — if you have discipline to, is to write down the chapter topics that held those complex questions, find them in the curriculum and text book / PDF, and redo a few questions every week or so until you get results.. and, Start practice exams earlier. Even if you felt ‘good’ like I did recently, your competition might be better.
Not too shabby.
How did you prepare? And for how long? What background did you have before taking it?
I’ve been in wealth management for 5+ years. Also have a lot of BI skills. Came from a liberal arts degree. Passed level one no problem with 2 months prep. Prepped this time twice due to a deferment I wasn’t expecting…. Was super solid on all topics at least 80% on questions and mocks were ok, better than my L1.
Both times total prob 500 hrs. Felt like I would pass 100% after prep round 2
