Does anyone know D's 401k plan rules on after tax contributions? Trying to see if mega backdoor Roth is available.
Working with someone that is about to go off COBRA. Not an expert with health insurance but like to be more involved. Do most of you provide advice in this area or do you point them in the direction?
Hi all, I wondering what I should do i was planning on taking an advance Accounting course in January 2021. Part of my company benefits is tuition reimbursement. I got an email back from my manager that was clearly drafted by the Director. The email basically stated that they were concerned that I was over working myself and the course would not be reimbursed at this time maybe in April that would be after they reevaluate the situation. My question here is should I be concerned I’m a target.
Any financial advice for us younger professionals who have not weathered a recession? I’m nearly three years out of college and it freaks me out to see my (small) 401k losing thousands of dollars.
Any recommendations on boutique firms with excellent 401k match%/vesting policy and maternity leave? Please help. I’m going nowhere at my big firm.
It's health insurance season in the United States of "Every Person for Themselves." Is there a silver lining to a primarily coinsurance based plan, rather than mostly copays? This is a first for me.
Has anyone given more than a 2 week notice if going to a competitor? I’d like to try and retain my benefits for another month if possible.
If my employer matches retirement contributions (up to 4%), should I opt for a traditional pre tax 401k or Roth 401k? My base salary is 85k. In addition, how much of my base salary do you recommend I contribute to my 401k?
I’m doing a talk on diversity in advertising. Hit me up with your thoughts and benefits of having a diverse creative staff. Specific examples are a plus. I’d love to include examples (POC, LGBTQ, etc)
The firm that spends $500 on my Quality of Life (read:healthy lifestyle) reimbursement has a deep fryer on the list of 5-year anniversary gifts. So of course I ordered one, and I love it.
Left to another firm. For my 401K, I have 2 options. Rollover funds to new firm or withdraw all funds in cash. If I were to withdraw all the funds, how much would roughly would I be taxed + penalized?
Moving out of parents and trying to figure out if I can afford 2.1k rent and a dog in NYC. Currently make 110k and save 50k + max 401k. I hear dogs cost 15k a year and 24k+ rent brings my savings down to ~10k/year. Is this enough of a buffer in case something goes wrong?
73 year old client stuck in a qualified annuity with a 2% cap rate and 1% income rider fee packaged with a 4.5% surrender charge. Plenty of income with SSI and pension Any thoughts?
For folks who worked/lived in a foreign country, why did you leave your country? What are the benefits of working globally career-wise? Would you recommend doing it to a consultant at the early stage of his/her career?
Has anyone had to defend themselves at their firm when coming back from maternity leave? My firm decided to hire an associate (male married with no kids) instead of a per diem to cover my cases.
FYI - you should still get 401k match from your old company if you leave in first few months of new year. Heard differently on this app, but left B4 in Jan and still got employer match in Feb for 2019
What is your backup plan incase you and your partner (if you have one) get laid off? Specifically curious about how you would handle housing and income.
Do women at other consultancies have to go back to work after maternity leave, or else pay it back? I’m wondering if it’s an industry wide thing, or a Deloitte thing.
Dealing with serious health issues. Physical and mental. I’m in my mid twenties. Considering quitting and taking 2-4 months to focus on improving my health, going to doctors appointments, exercising, going to therapy, taking time to myself. Just recently joined a new firm after being laid off a few months ago. Don’t think taking a temporary leave of absence is an option. I’m already falling behind on work as a result of these issues and dont think I can catch up and keep up. What should I do?
Recently put around 10k into VOO for my brokerage account and realizing that I like the diversity of VTSAX a bit better. Is it worth selling the VOO or should I just start contributing to VTSAX instead? A bit new to all this so appreciate the advice in advance!

Started telling recruiters up front what I am looking for and letting them know not to come to a call with me to try to only push something I'm not interested in such as the Siegfried Group.
