What are other workplace-acceptable diminutives to use for older men? There may be regional variations on these:
Little Buddy
My Dear or Dear
Pops
Hun (with sarcasm)

“Breaking sexist men” is a much-valued skill.

Someone has called you sweetheart?!?!

It's been decades since I was called sweetheart. They stopped when I called them "sugar" in the middle of the hall in front of the staff.
Why wouldn’t you call them out and tell them to not call you sweetheart? Absolutely not.
Because this gets them to think harder about why they are being called little buddy, stops their thought process and makes them backtrack. If you flat out tell them to knock it off, they’ll just dismiss you as a “difficult emotional woman”. My way is harder for them to dismiss lol
