Starting a new role going from Senior to ACD. Will start having 1-1s with teammates soon. What should I ask them/convey to them?
I have an interview tomorrow for an ACD position I really want, however, I want to ask good questions to get an idea what the work/life balance is. I know people at the agency, some with kids, and they say it isn't horrible, most days it's not bad hours, just occasionally you'll have to pull a 10 he day for a pitch or tight deadline. Totally get that. I don't know anyone on this specific team, though, so drop me all your smart workflow questions.
Anyone looking for Sr/ACD team in London?Partner and I are currently the go-to creative team at the agency but looking for new opportunity. Lots of production experience. Some awards. Some experience managing Jr teams. Who’s hiring?
Pay range for an ACD role at apple in LA?
In Chicago for the second time and I love this place. Anyone hiring an ACD writer so I can move here and live here?
Senior Copywriter here, looking for either another senior role or ACD position. Hit me up! Or don't. You do you.
Is 190k a fair salary for an ACD role in NYC? Im experienced and borderline about to be promoted to CD at my current shop
Any bigger Chicago agencies hiring ACD writers? I feel like everyone in town wants mid-level and I’m tryna make moves here.
My friend is an incredible ACD (art) and is pretty miserable/stuck at his current gig. He’s got a great book, experience, and super down to earth with a a great attitude. Anyone hiring??
What salary would you ask for: Currently making 120k as a senior at a big shop. Moving to ACD role in small shop. Six years of experience + portfolio school. NYC. Where is my reasonable range?
As an ACD for a Chicago agency, how much should I be making? Keeping in mind that I've been hired in a permanently remote role and live in Orlando (for now). If it matters, it's a biopharma agency of about 250 employees.
I had first and second round interviews for a specific role at a company—and even discussed salary range with the recruiter during first round—then I get an email from the recruiter saying the SVP and ACD I interviewed with loved me and thought I’d be a great fit, and that she’d be in touch when a position opens up that matches my skills and level. Has anyone ever had something like this happen? I’m so confused, because the role was for my skills and level.
Strategy Directors, advice needed: What top 3 qualities do you look for when a candidate is from a creative background? I am an ACD/Copy with some awards (include a gold lion) who also worked as brand/ marketing manager (in different countries), wants to switch career to strategy. Additionally: What position do you suggest would be more realistic to start with? Thank you!

Senior Copywriter position at Droga5 coming from an ACD role (note: no ACD roles at Droga). What do we think the salary bracket is?
What are the key role differences between a Senior Copywriter and an ACD Copywriter? When is one “ready” to be promoted from one to the next?
Madwell/Denver. Have an inside word that (like a lot of brands/ agencies) they’re particularly keen on hiring a woman/POC for this gig...CD/CW. Either ACD rising to CD or a current CD/ECD who maybe wants a lifestyle change & doesn’t demand $5,000,000 a year and a solid gold rocket company car. DM me if you fit the above... https://www.linkedin.com/jobs/view/2379054048/?refId=x5YMrsPyTijdPG0Uh%2BEGSA%3D%3D
Would it be inappropriate to apply for an ACD position with my title currently at mid level? I have the years of experience to qualify but haven’t been able to get any title promotion, not even to senior, at my current agency for the same reasons I’m looking for a new position. I’ve been looking for senior opportunities and I’m seeing a bunch of ACD positions opening up. Don’t want to look like I don’t know what I’m doing for trying to hop a level.
I just moved country for my husband’s job and am talking with an agency for CD role. I had a great chat with both ECD and MD and now they asked for more information about the team I was managing in my previous job. But, there was not a solid team structure at that agency and I just worked with designers / art directors chosen by the account directors. Could be one or several creatives. I was in this freestyle cross agency position as ACD without a partner as well. (Cont)
Is it true that Fallon has eliminated layers in creative department to CDs and general creative? If so, if you’re more ACD level does this hurt you in the long run? Context: Being hit up for position with sr level pay but I’m on the cusp of an ACD promotion at my current shop.
Has anyone ever been promoted to ACD only to feel like they were much happier at the Senior CW/AD level? I’m going through that right now and wondering if it will pass with time as I get more experience in the role. Or, if it doesn’t, what do you do about it? Would it look horrible to eventually take a job somewhere else back at the Senior CW level? I’ve always loved being the maker - focusing on writing and concepting. Having a lot of anxiety that this new position isn’t the right path for me.
Anyone hiring for a full time or freelance ACD or CD CW in LA? I'm big on mentoring and have tons of new biz experience. Please dm me or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org
Been working as a Designer with a focus in brand design for the past 4.5 years, being primed to move into an ACD role. What steps do I need to take to eventually become a Brand Consultant?
CWs who became ACDs: how do i do this? i work at a small agency, so there's no real track toward the role. what can i be doing to prepare for ACD and how do i show that in a portfolio? thanks!
After interviewing with ACD and CD a month ago (felt it went really well but who knows) I haven’t heard anything... They said there was no immediate timeline, and I was definitely reaching in terms of experience but definitely felt like I could step up to the challenge and do a great job- is it hopeless yet? ALSO, just had a recruiter for a ~dream job~ reach out to me for a position but haven’t heard anything further on that yet, is it bad? This comes after a year of totally brutal rejections.
I’m curious how long everyone worked as a senior creative before getting their first ACD role. I imagine there is quite a range, but want to find the ballpark. Bonus points for sharing your starting ACD salary if it’s recent enough to still mean anything.
Hey, amazing recruiters, I would love to have your input. I’m someone that has always been paid above my position level. I make the equivalent of a CD. Mostly because I have a good reputation of overdelivering and few awards. And I like being an ACD. But with covid, I wonder if it’s better to be a cheap CD than a expensive ACD. What do you think? In your experience, do you have more CD positions or more ACD positions?
💰HIRING💰 FCB/SIX is looking for: - AE (contract + FT) - AS - Sr. Project Manager (contract) - Sr. Integrated Manager (contract) - Copywriter - Sr. AD/ACD - Jr. Creative Team - Intermediate Creative Team - Email Developers - Jr. QA Hit up HR on their main LinkedIn page. 💫GOODLUCK💫
Been an art director for 12 months but grown in my role significantly & my boss told me my next promo was “political”. I’m managing well over 1.5M a year, 9 brands. Functioning with little to no oversight on a day-to-day basis, w/ only strategy checkins with my CD. 100% client facing. I’m managing 1 direct report and from 2-8 copy and art freelancers at any time. I feel like all my stretch goals are ACD focused. Yet still need SAD before ACD. Does this sound like an art director? Pharma agency.
Anyone make the jump from agencies to tech? Any advice on what salary you’d request for an ACD (or CD) role at a Bay Area tech firm? They tracked me down and have been pretty aggressive about moving things along, so I may have some leverage.
Anyone experience this during the interview process.. I’ve met with the ACD and CD, so far so good, got the impression that they thought I’d fit right into the role (which would be a title bump). Now I’ve been asked to have a follow up call with the ACD. Any thoughts on what they would want to discuss? Not sure what I should be prepped for.
Anyone at Saatchi NY have info on the ACD team position they are hiring for? Or the recruiter to reach out to? Thanks in advance!
How many years does an art director need to be considered for a senior art director role or ACD role? And how much should they ask for in NYC? Also should they accept a lower pay during covid?
trying to switch from ACD/UX lead role at an agency to product design and it has not been smooth even though i'm already doing UX.
Know it’s a long shot, but looking to transition to an ACD role and don’t see the opportunity at my current agency any tome soon. Anyone looking for ACD art in NYC?
What’s the current salary range for an ACD role in San Francisco? (I found some answers in a previous thread, but it might have changed with COVID...)
Was offered an ACD position at a good company but wanted the CD role. Have been a CD for 3 years historically. Need a job so I don’t feel super comfy holding out for something else. Should I negotiate a review in 6 months to re-evaluate? Any advice for navigating this?
I’ve outgrown my title/position in my current company. How does one convince the next place that this true? Anything above ACD is log jammed at the current place.
If you don’t think you’re ready for an ACD role... should you take it if you have the opportunity? Don’t have much “leadership” experience but aren’t we all faking it til we make it?
I just turned a C28 boarding position into seat 2A on Southwest this morning. Totally surprised; luck of the Irish I suppose. Onto Boston! ☘️
If you liked your firm and team, had a great role, great pathway to leadership/advancement, pretty good WLB, etc., what % salary bump would it take to make you leave for a competitor (7-8 YOE)?
How tough is it to lateral to a larger bank, or to exit into corp dev/strategy at a "large cap" company at the VP-ish level? I'm currently in IB at a smaller MM bank, but kind of trapped until I get my green card which obviously will be a few years. I don't hate my bank/team but I do feel limited by the bank (since obviously reputation/size dictates the deals the bank can win)
How common is it for recruiters to misrepresent jobs to people like us? I had one sell me on a senior financial analyst role and was super pumped about it. Later last night was digging and come to find out it’s a SEC Reporting Analyst role, nothing like what I want and the duties are totally different.
tips/advise on dealing with difficult people, uninterested in their role but no current opportunities for a promotion, frequently on sick leave and constantly gossiping/spreading rumours
Exp. Associate at 28 years old. Worked in the engineering industry after grad school and then switched to my current role in consulting. Am I too old for this job?
Is it okay to tell the recruiter midway of the interview process, that I'm interested in another role. How to go about it?
Anyone on here come from or exit to VW or Audi (or know anyone who works there)? They have a lot of interesting jobs posted on LinkedIn - wondering what the culture is like.
Is the “Manager, Corporate Strategy” role in tech typically a role to aspire to post-promotion to Engagement Manager? Or is that a role more suited for SAs moving to industry?
I was laid off from a resource management role, working with employees approaching or on the bench, working with managers to staff projects, and support functions like report creation, scheduling, etc. Roles like this are few and many large consulting firms have frozen internal hiring. Do you think it would be beneficial to get a SHRM cert? Would that help get a "talent related" HR role? Worth the money? I have a background in recruitment as well.
Hi there - really like the Creative Production team at Netflix from researching them (very cool podcast WeAreNetflix) applied for one position. Wondering if anyone would be willing to chat / refer?
Guys, I finally got my dream exit! I will be working on the set of Adam Sandler’s new movie, “Boner Dogs”!
Any McKinsey folks willing to make a referral? Saw an opening for a HC specialist consultant role that I would be perfect for. 7+ HC consulting YoE
I currently work in pharma and I never intended to do it long term. But it’s great pay. Very stable. Working on TV. I love my team and creative directors, and it’s likely I’ll get promoted in spring. But there’s another senior role opening on the retail side at my agency. Tougher CDs, a lot less stability, but possibly better opportunities. What would you do? 🆘
Chicago homies: I’m struggling. Is anyone hiring right now that I could send my book to? Like, directly, and not a robot that’s going to automatically reject me? I’ve applied to VMLY&R and that’s about all I’ve found. I’ve emailed connections, no luck. I’m working a contract gig out of the state right now, but I really don’t want to pack up life and leave just yet. I’ve pulled all my resources, and now I’m asking you, fellow fishbowlers, please help. Also anyone want to be a mentor to me? Lol.
Question for consulting folks- how do you stay motivated after you got into your role for 2plus years? I can’t tell if I’m just getting lazier month by month or I’m just finding work less important. I am hopping this is a bump and I get over it shortly. Anyone else feel This now or at some point in their career?
Someone just asked me to parse their LinkedIn and manually type in the information for a potential referral 😂😂
Thoughts on David Miami? Anyone know what the atmosphere is like there? And if they're hiring?
Looking for senior level digital position in Denver metro area. Client/Ad Tech/ Agency positions are all of interest.
Anyone have deal sheet templates I can refer to? If I’m applying for an M&A position, would I still list capital markets transactions I was on if they were billion dollar deals for large, well known companies?
New AWMA... curious to know what a reasonable salary expectation is and what the growth looks like for an associate within a growing ensemble. For context, background is more analytical, taking CAIA level 2 in a couple weeks, then plan on pursuing CFA.
I just turned a C28 boarding position into seat 2A on Southwest this morning. Totally surprised; luck of the Irish I suppose. Onto Boston! ☘️

Slalom Seattle - How’s growth going? Any increase in benefits - 401k match or standard PTO? Heard it’s on low side.
Anybody successfully gotten a refund from Hotwire? I’m about to be out $750 bucks for a rental car we never received. (But they’re saying we forfeit for arriving after our “reservation time.”)
How long does it take to get the offer letter from PWC after the final round/salary discussion? I have been waiting for a week now.
How many of you have rental properties? I am done maxing 401k, IRA and putting $ in index funds. But haven’t had the time to research investment properties or courage to pull the trigger. Missing out?
Good gifts for MBA recommenders?
Looking for advice because I’m emotionally struggling with my pay compensation. I️ feel really lucky to have a job, especially a job that I️ enjoy. But my online research shows my salary always falls below the average. I️ know it’s not healthy to compare, but I️ feel undervalued. I️’m approaching 1.5 years with the company and want to make sure I️’m not letting them them take advantage of me
For B4 partners, what happens to your shares if you leave the firm before vesting? E.g. if you left 3 years after making partner
I just interviewed someone a few levels above me. What person did at an AE level is extremely impressive. This has really motivated me to step it up. Can anyone recommend any books, workshops, tools, etc to be a better account person?
Happy New Year! Although just a change of a digit on the calendar, the fact that we’ve rotated around the sun gives people inspiration for change. What new or altered mindset or actions will you be bringing into your classroom in 2021? 🤩
SAE here with close to 5 years in health, managing multiple pharma accounts and projects, looking for a new challenge w a consumer agency (IPG, if possible!) Open to any ideas and/or suggestions!
At what point does the value of a degree fall off? I'm in my early 30s, and have five years of experience, and work on a very theoretically interesting project. I believe I'm on track to promotion in the next year. So, I could put in a year of full time school to check the box off, but I'd be sacrificing hobbies and social life (not to mention cost). Is this FOMO or is there real opportunity here?
