That's a really tough question that only she can answer. I think she should absolutely consult an attorney, but will she? Does she have the support to do so? That's only something she can answer.
Chief
Its definitely her choice. She could afford the attorney. The issue then is: can she trust that the attorney will not just milk her case for money and make it worse than it is? Maybe she will not be able to find a job if she sues her employer. Its very tough situation for her.
Your friend should talk to an attorney who handles sexual harassment cases. The thing that occurs to me is that a lot depends on what the nature of the pressure was. And, if she pursues legal action, what she can actually prove. It doesn't take much imagination to know that the doctor will claim it was consensual, or even that she was the instigator. Going the legal route would be the right thing to do, but it could be doubly traumatizing for your friend, sorry to say.
Chief
Ya but the issue here is the doctor could argue she lead him on and then her partner could get upset with her and it could all just be a disaster for her even though she just wants to work. When has work become so complicated? Can’t people just have a peaceful work and life situation? Its quite disheartening that she needs to deal with this.
