Totally been on a toxic all-female team before. It's ironic isn't it? I wish we could be better allies in the workplace. Brain fog in my experience is often the cause of hormonal imbalances and/or vitamin deficiencies. Have you ever had your vitamin panels done or done a hormone panel? I've learned a lot about my health from learning to balance my hormones and get enough micro and macro nutrients in my diet. Exercise also helps a lot with brain fog!

I just made an appointment with my GP for this!
This hits home. I started forgetting key talking points on client calls and even second-guessing myself constantly. My manager was no help, and my team had this weird 'mean girl' energy that made everything worse. I started therapy and also leaned into a routine before every call. It gave me something solid when everything else felt shaky. You're not alone at all.

Yes. Pen and paper help me. I offload all the steps onto a list I can then check off so i don’t mess up.
Anxiety itself contributes to brain fog. Anxiety activates the stress response, releasing hormones like cortisol and adrenaline. These hormones, while helpful in the short term, can impair the hippocampus, affecting memory and learning, leading to mental cloudiness. Additionally, anxious breathing patterns can decrease oxygen to the brain, further contributing to the feeling of brain fog.

I dealt with this. My heart rate was elevated because my incompetent micromanaging boss was stressing me out so bad. I ended up asking for a new manager. Life has been better ever since.

Whew. Been there. Start looking sis. But in the meantime talk with a therapist, and if you can get FMLA leave I would.
