Thoughts on FP&A? I’m currently a senior tax accountant and got asked to the last round of interviews for a senior FP&A position (narrowed down to 2 people). I feel like I’ll get it as I have friends at this company in accounting who put in recommendations for me. Only thing holding me back is I made manager this week and overall like the flexibility of PA, hate busy season though.
Five years in public accounting. I’m firmly a believer that I am not a good fit for for public accounting. What are good exit strategies for senior tax accountants?

My other half, who I have been with for nearly a decade, just doesn’t understand the level of demand and hours required to do my job. Since WFH, it seems that having seen what I go through during the day (call after call after call) and the fact that I’ve been putting more hours into working has put a strain on our relationship. I also happen to work on a very demanding piece of business which lately, has required me to be at the desk for hours on end, sometimes not being able to spend dinner...
Yay!! Just found out I was promoted to SC. Was hoping for a 1 rating but received a 2. Still thankful and praying for a good increase and bonus 🤑🤑

Why is it assumed PMs are responsible for scheduling all meetings and taking notes? When did this happen? I was responsible for providing a recap of meetings in the sense of next steps, not in depth notes on the conversation. As for scheduling meetings, I was responsible for scheduling the milestone meetings (kick offs, internal reviews, post mortems, status meetings that I led), I did not schedule the team reviews (CD reviews with ADs/CWs), client meetings, etc. Comments?
