Once you director, how did you go about getting that next role outside your company? Do those roles exist on LinkedIn or is it one of those you have to find recruiting firm?

Probably depends on your industry, but in mine, networking is key. Just switched companies to be on leadership team at my new org and my reputation in the industry is what worked for me. I was basically offered the job on the spot without even interviewing. Major promotion and salary increase. I would HIGHLY advise getting in front of decision makers and industry movers and shakers. When in meetings, talk to those who are in charge when the meeting is over (small talk). When attending conferences, ask questions during q&a. Always be a recognizable face. It truly does help. I am very blessed, and I acknowledge that but personality matters greatly.

Hi all, I have about 7 years of professional experience but only one year as a Customer Success Manager. I work on mid market accounts currently. I love my job, but would prefer to support a more robust platform that will allow me to add more value for my customers.

I’d appreciate your thoughts on what compensation you might expect for a CSM transitioning to a new company with one year of experience.

To clarify, I don’t have an offer yet, I’m just looking to make a move.

Thank you!
