This question is probably beaten to death. I think I am not eligible to contribute to Roth IRA as our joint income is more than 200k. I have 401k but spouse doesn’t have a employer provided plan. I would like to contribute as much as possible to a IRA. Can I put as much as I want to a IRA, deduct 6000$ as tax deductible and rest (as much as I want) as nondeductible ? Or should I open two separate Ira account to keep things simple ?

Small town teachers....how do you get past the insulation? I can’t talk to anyone in my district about issues I’m having with admin because it’s a small town & they cover each other and gaslight you. The school district only cares about their PR and has vague policies that keep us from saying against them, yet we can’t say anything TO them either. My union rep is trying to help but she also said that it’s all too common for small towns. They always win & you just have to suck it up or get fired.

Am I missing something? I’ve picked up Four Roses bottlings at various price points ($30-$90) and I find it consistently burn-your-gag-reflex-and-choke unpleasant regardless of age. I swear it makes me cough every time I drink it, and I don’t find this in other bourbons from my stash (Blantons, Michters, Makers, Knob Creek, Bulliet).
