Spouse here of the recently laid off, my SO worked for a major analytics/data company for 7yrs. After breaking the news they asked him to stay on 3 weeks to off-board and basically create documentation for what he does, it’s weirdly specialized. They literally are asking him to be a dead man walking to train his replacement offshore/AI or otherwise? Tech friends is this normal? My industry they take your laptop and kick you out the door within the hour with a few weeks severance if your lucky.
